It clearly is bitterness. the bitterness continues. these bastards can't even afford the 10m to sign landon donovan. we could if he was younger, moyes has some rules he sticks to and one of them is not spending big on players he'll never be able sell again. anyway. the more I read about this 'deal' with the chinaman the less I have to be bitter about.

As far as i can tell, Sky have got the story wrong.
He hasn't tabled a bid to buy the club, he's buying the debt off RBS - which is why the bid is only around £350m - which would allow him to put pressure on the yanks to sell the club to him. Sources close to him have said that he wants it done before the transfer window closes so he could give Hodgson money to buy players.

he wont be rushing the yanks though will he? The yanks are now like Corrado Soprano, involved in name only. They had a deadline with RBS on the 30th of last month, and failed to meet it, im sure RBS have now called the loan in and possessed the club. if RBS had called in the loan and repossesd the club,it'd be the biggest news in football this year that'd be the news headlines on the front pages here and back pages all over the world, it hasnt happened. from memory I'm pretty sure when broughton came in to sell he was backed by barclays and RBS are extending loans and keeping out of it for the time being.

RBS haven't called in the loan.
One thing i don't get is that Purslow was supposed to get £100m investment, and didn't. So then RBS refinanced the loan anyway. This obviously means that RBS have some confidence in the useless cunts who are running things now.
I think he'll buy the debt from RBS which would then give him the influence to get rid of the yanks, they'll be under ridiculous pressure to sell to him and will have to do so. I don't think £350 is a bid for the club considering the debt is around £335m.

I realise people are on a bit of a wind up but the idea that Liverpool will get more chinese fans because they might be getting chinese owners is a little weird.

it's impossible to develop the ground, the Anfield Road end is on the fucking road, it's never going to get any bigger.
Extending the main stand would require knocking down too many houses, and it'd mean getting rid of Lothair road and Lake street as well as blocking off Back Rockfield Road and Tinsley street.
It took long enough to extend the Kemlyn Road ffs

It doesn't create a good impression of your city to all those Liverpool FC tourists. Liverpool One and the new docks look lovely but it's all undermined by row after row of derelict houses.

BUT they were expecting those about 3 years ago, the money seems to have dried up now and lots of these projects have now been ditched by the tories. its pretty likely that large areas of the city are going to fall into ruin if it continues much longer.

A lot of them have been knocked down now, with plants and things in their place, there was a big metal cow there a few weeks ago for some reason. There's still loads which are due to be knocked down but it's taking a fucking age. The Rockfield road area (behind the Main Stand) is fucked, most of the houses are boarded up.

thing is, even the small terraces there at the time they were built were very nice houses compared to the slums most people lived in that got pulled down after the war, but the choice of building some of the packed around the football grouns was just wierd.
