Liverpool consider Chinese takeover bidLiverpool could be bought by a Chinese business tycoon within days, according to a source close to the deal. Kenny Huang, head of Hong Kong-based investment company QSL Sports Ltd, wants to take full control of the Reds, who have been up for sale since April. "A deal has to be done before the transfer window closes [on 31 August]," a source close to Huang told BBC Sport. "Huang has made a firm proposal. The club's board has to sanction the sale and it could be sewn up in days." Huang has been talking for several weeks to representatives of the Royal Bank of Scotland, with the aim of taking full control of the Premier League club. RBS is Liverpool's main creditor, owed about £237m by American co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett. While RBS has told the BBC it is not negotiating directly with Huang, it is understood he is mounting a credible bid. "Kenny is the only serious bidder interested in the club and he's optimistic," added the source. Huang is offering to clear Liverpool's debt to RBS, and give new manager Roy Hodgson funds to do business in the transfer window. However, he wants the deal to be completed within two weeks to allow Hodgson time to strengthen the squad before the transfer deadline at the end of August. Any later and the deal is off. Huang is offering to clear Liverpool's debt to RBS The tycoon also plans to build the club a new stadium as soon as possible.

if this goes through them I'm hugely relieved its someone buying liverpool as a business investment and so taking money out of the club in the end and not as a rich mans plaything and pumping cash in.

This guy is backed by the CIC, who are worth Trillions. If this deal goes through, we'll be far and away the most well financially backed club on the planet. that doesnt actually matter though does it? if the club is being run to take profit out of it can't compete with chelsea and man city especially who aren't arsed about that really.

Real Madrid arent backed by city-chelsea type owners either. real madrid though were able to get away with spending money they didnt have which was then written off by the local government, and now they benefit from the hugely inequitable tv deal which the spaniards have. it doesnt matter how many chinese support liverpool because even if they subscribe to sattellite just to watch, liverpool only get 1/20 of that, and will only ever get that cut, unless 13 other premier league clubs agree that the tv pot shouldnt be split equally (which will never happen, since theres not 13 clubs who'd be better off from that change. ever.) the same cut as every other premier league club and if they buy replica kits most of them will be fakes anyway.

Real Madrid arent backed by city-chelsea type owners either. It doesnt matter what type of ownership we get. We only need 4 great players. Story is being reported by every credible media outlet. Once it happens we'll be backed by the chinese government, the new economic superpower of the world, and thus an extra 1.4billion people will be FORCED to support liverpool, to rule the world we'll need to rule asia, and we'll finaly become the first club to do that. Hail Emperor Kenny. Which 4 great players did you have in mind? Even if this were true (you only needing 4 great players) and I suspect it isn't, getting those 4 players is hardly a formality. Joe Cole and Luke Young is the level you're at and I can't see this improving regardless of any takeover. Who is the best player you could realistically get right now?

Honest question Who gives a toss about which english teams are this years flavour of the year in Taiwan ffs? well the obvious answer to this is deluded kopites who havent quite worked out what having an equal split of tv money means.

My question is, why does anyone except Liverpool fans appear to care so much about this? Bitter much?

Why are you trying to convince yourself that liverpool wont be better off with new owners? They will. I have absolutely no doubt that liverpool will be better off with new owners saddling the club with debt. I'm not trying to argue that fact, but you seem deluded that liverpool will all of a sudden become a rich club, which they absolutely will not, no extra money will be coming in. sponsorship doesnt count for shit its a small percent of a clubs money.... fans in china dont matter since all they bring is tv money from which everton get as much of a share as liverpool what you need is a new stadium if thats coming then you'll have more money but still will NEVER in a million be able to compete with chelsea and man city. you dont seem to be able to grasp the fact that it is irrelevant how wealthy liverpools new backers are, as it seems that liverpool will be used to generate more wealth for them, not the other way round. and the only thing stopping man city getting the best players is them not being in the champions league so top players with shame arent able to bullshit that they are going there for football reasons, once city fix that then the floodgates will open.

All they bring is TV money, other than the £50 per replica top. And with 500m new fans I have that at around £25billion.

What do you think about Evander Sno Andy? Wouldn't you just love to see him play for Liverpool? I mean, how lovely it would be if he played for BOTH Celtic and Liverpool

He's probably the worst player I've ever seen and yet Marco van Basten let him earn about a fucking million in euros per year When I was looking for some videos of him on youtube all I came across was a dozen of youtubes named 'Evander Sno, worst Celtic player ever' hahaha the man's a total joke, he's not even in the squad for our second team. Last year he went on loan to Bristol City and I was reading a forum of theirs, them all saying they'd signed a gem of a player blablabla but after a couple of months they all agreed he was the biggest poof ever. You often see fake newspaper articles about that Barcelona signed Sno on Dutch websites nowadays.

The only reason they'll all be sceptical over there is because the super uber SOS fans have for three years been in la la land; in terms of their influence and power over the club. That place reeks of SOS, and it's basically made up of of it's henchman, minions and wannabe's and they are all under the impression that fan ownership is a real and possible outcome in the short term future. so it's only natural that they will all be feeling a bit rattled and apprehensive in these exciting and delicate times. That place is full of cunts and is at times worse than death. thats true. but some of their reasons to be sceptical about this chinese takeover bid seem rational - mostly that its such a low bid that its in effect a hostile and opportunist bid. personally if i was a kopite after what happend with the hicks and gillete disaster I really wouldnt be comfortable about some 'chinese' (hes basically an american businessman now, despite where he's from) fella who has stakes in various sports franchises wanting to rush the current yanks into a deal.
