first off, the lad who has been getting onto the tibet groups did so because he'd already been in touch with them over other things. so clearly he is arsed. secondly, if you're doing a good thing, it doesnt actually matter what your motives for doing it are, its still doing a good thing. theres a whole area of philosphy dedicated to that, I think from Kant but could be wrong there. and thirdly; Everton fans couldn't wind up liverpool fans if they werent so morally bankrupt they'd accept being taken over by the chinese government just to win a few more games.
you personally might not have got excited but you only have to take a look at a few of axl's posts to see what you are.

if its not a wind up, thats why tibet campaigning groups are getting involved. while you're getting excited about getting money from a dodgy regime in whose country 900 million people live in poverty just so you can win a few more football matches we're talking about human rights. while you're writing about evertonian obsession we're talking about the possibilty of getting demonstrations about human rights in tibet on live chinese tv for the first time in history. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

do you have any thoughts about the morality of being owned by the chinese? this is what someone from free tibet has had to say so far. Thanks for your mail. This is something we are watching, and will continue to do so. Obviously details are not 100% verified yet as the relationship between the prospective buyers and the Chinese government have not been fully revealed but of course it is more than likely that there are close connections given the nature of business in China. This of course raises concerns.
I will forward your mail to our campaigns team- I am sure more details will emerge over the weekend, cementing what might be appropriate. I remember Liverpool legend Alan Hansen has supported Free Tibet in the past and took part in an event for us a few years ago, so I am sure he may be concerned about any connections with the Chinese government. I hear an Indian businessman is also in the running to buy, so this could be an interesting choice from our perspective!
Thanks for your support again and best wishes

i think people are jumping to conclusions too soon.
the Chinese government already said they had no interest in investing in a football club, and as of right now the club is still owned by the Yanks.
I wouldn't be happy if the club were owned by the Chinese government, but i have no problem with the club being owned by a Chinese person. Obviously i'd love the club to be owned by a rich scouser but that's not realistically possible.

what the girl from free tibet is getting at there is that rich chinese people and the chinese government are the same thing.

i don't think that's necessarily true though. you might not think that, but the girl who spends a lot of her time looking into the chinese government - a country in which the state owns all the large businesses- seems to think that if you read her email, I reckon she knows more.

Yeh, i'm sure she's impartial and not agenda-driven too. are you calling for human rights campaigners to represent both sides of the story here? lunatic.

no you fucking clod, i'm saying that they can't be believed 100%
In the same way that a load of the stuff the Spirit of Shankly group have accused the Yank owners of is not true or exaggerated.

they havent made an accusation, just an observation.
and does the notion that a rich person in china cannot be unconnected to the government in a closed country with a state run version of capitalism seem that far fetched?
