Thank you Bakester.
Yeah I heard about that Dan. I'll probably avoid it until I've dug deeper into hear her original studio LP's though. otherwise it would be a bit like listening to Let It Be Naked before hearing the White album.

I think I am able to cut through the accent enough to get the lyrics. I've got most of the chords, I think. I wanna do a cover of "picking up the pieces." Would you post the lyrics and chords, mahoney, so that I get it right?

Cool I never knew you played Bakester. I'll pm you the chords & lyrics. First I have to find what the actual chords are called as my F's are not real F's and there is a chord I've labeled as AA which I've no idea what the real chord name is.

For all I know I could of. I just don't know the correct names minus the main ones. Used to have a book with all the names in but can't find it. I'll name one of my chords THE BARNY in future. This EP has got much more attention than my second album which was CRIMINALLY OVERLOOKED by the soapbox. I wrote and recorded it all in a day & it's like a spaghetti Western on an LP. I was the first to do this in the history of rock & roll & now Danger Mouse has ripped me off. So for anybody who missed it the first time round here is Trouble In Springville Canyon, the story of Mad Dog Norton's terror throughout a small town in Texas. 01: Chapter One 02: Springville Canyon 03: Chapter Two 04: Sheriff Slipper 05. Chapter Three 06. Mad Dog Norton 07 Chapter Four 08. Blueberry Pie 09: Chapter Five 10: Keep Off My Land 11: Chapter Six 12: Bang Bang (Mad Dog Norton Shot Me Down) 13: Chapter Seven 14. Goodbye To Springville Canyon I think I hit my creative peak during this period. www.mediafire.com/?pcwsclr2tdikgn2

Enjoyed this a lot, can only echo the thoughts about Picking Up The Pieces, a great song, you have a great ear for a melody and a hook. I like the Tom Waits influenced 'Who's that knocking at my door?' and also a lovely sultry turn by the Swede, all in all at 14 minutes, you can't go wrong, good work mate.
Glad you've got your creativity back, I really need to kick myself up the arse and get on with my new stuff too

Cheers. I had the idea of doing an entire Tom Waits ripoff EP, was gonna get the pots & pans from downstairs & start bashing them with sticks to recreate the Waits sound but thought better of it We definitely need some more Kev Burgess material though I fear your work will always be in Elias Dread's shadow forevermore. In other news, JamesDCody has began the early stages of the second Postal Squad album.

What exactly does it mean by writing in open G? Never understood that, or 'in the key of..' Been trying to play barre chords on my acoustic, I can't do it i must have small hands or something

Basically writing in open G or any open chord means you tune the guitar in a particular way so that when you strum it 'open' i.e no fingers on any strings, its tuned to that particular chord, so standard tuning is EADGBE, however if you were to tune it to DGDGBD, you would be in open G tuning, I write quite a bit in open G too (though I use a slight variation of GGDGBD) and always have one of my guitars tuned to it

Thanks. I'm gonna try to retune my guitar now. If any of the strings break you owe me Kev.

Just don't try playing regular chord shapes Karl - they'll sound mostly horrid.
Just mess about up and down the fretboard

I mostly use Double drop D for quite a few of my songs - just because it sounds well moody, innit
