Got a pair of tickets off Scarlet Mist to see them at Manchester Academy 3  Had sold out, tickets were going on ebay for 60 quid each, got them for 12 quid each. Great stuff. |

New song leaked, "I Can See Through You". It keeps with the Simple Minds vibe. It keeps being good.
Plus the new Cat's Eyes bside is nice too, a Dave Berry cover.

I thought they were decent at Glasto, but the crowd just didn't get into it at all. The Bob claimed they were the worst band he'd ever seen, but he then made me watch Noah & the Whale, so I guess we're about even.

Sounding good on first listen, it is their poppiest to date. I'd say lighter, but it wouldn't be true with so many things happening and every song lasting more than 4 minutes. Some 80s vibes, some undescriptible noises, lots of epic and a Suede rip-off. Promising. Endless Blue  |

Gonna listen to it driving on the Autobahn tonight and I cannot wait. Not heard it yet, but I'm sure it'll blow me away for weeks to come and beyond. I sense an absolut classic, at least as good as Primary Colours. Still Life burnt me, it's amazing. Song of the year. CAN'T WAIT to see if there's many equal or even better songs on this one...

i think it's a comfortably better album than primary colours, which i thought was half-great but fell off badly on some songs. this doesn't fall below at least "good", and even then it's only for a couple of tunes. real impressive stuff.

I still like Primary Colours better, but I really love the shit of that record. While I'm enjoying the newie and as brilliant as it is, I think it lacks the edge and menace of their previous records.
