not as great as Primary colours but still very solid album, pre-ordering it on nice hipster vinyl.

Totally agree. But I find no need to compare them anymore tbh, both are quite different and brilliant on its own

Spun it once yet, in a convenient setting - driving through the dawn, on my own, in a silent car with an exquisite sound system. With Primary Colours being absurdly good, them seeming to be likable lads and the leading single Still Life being an upright 12 outta 10 and shitting from a gyroplane on most anything I've heard in years, the way seemed paved for an album that I'd admire at the very least. Again, I just listened to it once, but I have to say that it let me down, which I never thought would happen. Expectations were immense, yeah, but the notable lack of 'bite' up to track 8 disenchanted me. Still Life is immense and I liked Moving Further Away quite a lot, despite the bloody seagulls. Changing The Rain and Monica Gems I'd rate (just) a tad better than the other six songs, but those were all pretty much only a 7 to me, lacking something. All three favorite songs mentioned in this thread so far didn't really do much for me. Yet. Hope it'll change. But fuck it, at least I'm not sitting in the same wagon as mingby. Gonna wait a day and give it the next listen tomorrow. Still a great band though with more to come in this decade I'm sure. Who are you? Skying is fucking fantastic. Woo hoo

And why are you calling me sexist? Did I miss something?

Yeah, typo. I meant sexy.
Anyway, spent the last two hours with the album, it's brilliant. Still prefer PC and that won't change, but this is ace. Neither of the Forum favourites Endless Blue, You Said or Oceans Burning clicked with me yet though.
I Can See Through You is a monster.
Favourites are Still Life, I Can See Through You, Moving Further Away and Changing The Rain.

It's good but it hasn't quite gripped me the way that Primary Colours did (yet).
Still Life is one of the best tunes I've heard this year though. Endless Blue is me 2nd fave on there too.

The album is nothing more than OK for me atm, while Still Life still tops my loving charts. It's good but I'm probably not going to remember it in 5 years time.

It's a great album. Had my 2nd listen through today. If I had to choose one word to sum up this album it would be "Triumphant".

Really surprised when I heard this went top 5. Remember them being a bunch of boring goths and then a bunch of shoegaze rip offs, and then saw them supporting Pulp a few weeks back, sunny day, few beers, ready to be convinced, but nope, same old zzzzzzz.
Don't know if I'm missing something but they just sound trying to me, and the frontman is a dull cunt with nothing approaching a distinctive vocal.

it's not as adventureous as Primary Colours but still a great record, personal favorite would be Monica Gems. But it's good to see people naming lots of different songs as their favorites, always a sign of a good record, isn't it.
