He's a big fan of Neil Young and Donovan - and Noel's first track is worthy of being mentioned beside those legends. It's nothing fancy or too intricate, just classic Noel songwriting - coupled with an unexpected brass section. liam destroyed. destroyed my arse. donovan's music has dated real bad if u ask me. i give ya neil. bob was better though of course.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the Beady Eye record minus Wind Up Dream, that's an abortion of a tune. What he said Wind Up Dream is banging live. The Beat Goes On and Wigwam let the side down for me. Still, both shit on Noel's hillariously bland single.

PS
anyone that thinks 'The Death of My Solo Career' sounds like Ray Davies is obviously unfamiliar with the work of Ray Davies.

Could Noel Gallagher's solo career be the end of Axl? I think his demise has already begun.

Yeh I actually don't mind Wind Up Dream live, same with For Anyone... Both terrible on the album though

'the bottom of a bottle is every man's apostle'

Easily better than TIOBI. I've been hooked to this more than I was to any Beady Eye track upon early listening tbh, theirs mostly being the recent b-side that leaked. This is all.

I don't think anyone wanted BDI not to be very good...its just in my opinion so far, they aint. I remember being so excited to hear Bring The Light, and when I heard it I couldn't believe how bad it was. But I will always have time for any project Liam does coz he just IS rock n roll. Oasis would not have been half as exciting without him. I listened to the whole BDI album and Four Letter Word is amazing, and Millionaire is pretty good, but for me, thats it. I don't get how some can claim to hate BDI since its pretty straight forward rock and roll, just like Oasis was, so why would anyone be against that? The idea is great, just the tunes aint. This new Noel song is really, really strong and I think it bodes very well for the album. Im not into the whole Liam v Noel thing at all, and I can't wait to hear when BDI come up with next, and perhaps catch them live, but so far, 1-0 to Noel.
