Yeah I hadn’t seen that one until recently, worst of the bunch but still had fun with it. Fake edit: the worst ones the remake with Bruce Willis. such a big scene.

I bought I.d (footy hooligan film) off eBay for 1.79 with no postage, bargain. not seen it for years, what a great story and a powerful ending. I'd love them to remake it tho, as the clothes are all wrong and there's some really daft scenes (the fire eater guy in the pub especially). Great film tho 9/10 got me vhs out and watched that yesterday. they have done a sequel in recent years. virtually everyone hates it though.

cobra (1986) - 7.5 outta 10. typical 80's over the topness. poor brigette is the target after witnessing a murder. or it could be for the flat cap & curls. good chase sequence and a gloriously silly final killing segment. must be near the top in the film body bag count.

Blue Ruin (2013) It is on Netflix. I got the recommendation from avclub film.avclub.com/blue-ruin-revitalizes-the-revenge-thriller-with-eccentr-1798180232This man is inept and revenge driven. The first half of the film has so little dialogue it surprises you with its moderate use in the second. It kinda makes you think what you would do in a severe situation you weren't prepared to deal with. Very good film. 7.8/10

Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple (2006) Very good documentary about Jim Jones & his temple. Watched a few TV doc's in the past but this is definitely the best I've seen. Even though I knew about 95% of what went down I still couldn't help but be floored by how it all ends. Surprises me that there hasn't been a big budget Hollywood film about Jonestown, it hardly gets a mention tbh which is crazy when you think 900 people were practically slaughtered. 8.25 watched that storyville two parter on this. the look on jim jones face when the congressman is explaining that people wanna leave. 9 outta 10.

WW84. Loved it, big fan of the first but I preferred this. Very enjoyable. The dc universe gets slaughtered but the casting choices are superb. 8/10

The Rental - More traditional and formulaic than I expected, but I liked the actors and there were a few decent scares
Upgrad - Watched it for the third time, I love to show it to people who've never heard of it
Little Women - Loved it, and I'm a fan of Florence Pugh
Next up: Promising Young Woman, I have high hopes for that one

JCVD - Loved it. Weird little thing, almost too meta and self-referential. But surprisingly good and interesting direction and a great performance by JCVD, who shows what he's capable of beyond physicals. Funny and touching and some good action.

Interesting film, I've not seen it since it came out on DVD. That meta monologue he delivers is incredible. Great to see him perform in his native tongue too. I'm still a sucker anything featuring the stars of 80s cinema that I grew up with. At his peak I never rated him too highly despite loving many of his films. Yet out of all the other action stars of yesteryear, he has made it through the decades the most gracefully. Whist he's been relegated to the VOD market for the most part, he has actually improved as an actor & has managed to age gracefully. The warn-out/weathered look on his face I think adds a lot more character to him, rather than the artificial & plastic look the rest of them have ended up with.

eddie murphy collection on amazon prime. 48 hours - 10 outta 10 some great scenes (hotel & subway shootout/luther ). score is great at building the tension as well. another 48 hours - 8.5 outta 10 i know the critics hated it. always loved how crude and damn nasty this is.

rolling thunder revue - 8 outta 10. obviously u don't get much outta bob. but the rest of the cast provided some good anecdotes. rolling thunder is my favourite bob live period. still don't think i'm tempted enough to spend out on the double disk dvd though.

Zack Snyder's justice league
The first 2 hours are boring as fuck, way too long. Supermans black suit is awesome though, and Wonder Woman is fucking gorgeous.
6/10

Army of the Dead (2021)
I like Dave Bautista, as a wrestler and an actor. I just think he needs more direction in this film. This film is fun but doesn't figure out if it wants to be a bit on the sentimental side or the campy fun side. I think a better directed Bautista and a more single-threaded theme could have made this better.
When I anticipate a zombie film/show, I always wonder what kind of zombies are we gonna get. Slow/dumb zombies? Slow/smart zombies? Fast/dumb zombies? Fast/smart zombies? This film gives all versions and the fast/smart zombies are terrifying.
Tig Notaro was a late edition, replacing Chris D'elia because he a shit human. She did all her scenes without the rest of the cast and she has the funniest bits in the movie.
6.9/10

I agree with this wholeheartedly but the frayed endings and unoriginality of the format forbids my 8 rating tbh tbf. yeah, i just like that he takes the curb attitude to more extreme and politically incorrect heights, also the shows unique absurd moments i'm glad we discussed this here, otherwise we wouldn't have a chance (featuring manhoney, as the savior of all male-kind) This aged well lol.
