Repo Men - I dunno really, was weird. Kept me watching but throughout there were so many parts that were obvious rip offs from other films - don't know if anyone's seen it/will agree with me? Don't want to "spoiler" with the comparisons but it was just quite distracting. Some top music in it though.
Probably about 6/10 - purely because it didn't bore me. In terms of originality it's far lower though.

Dead Snow (2009) 5 Norwegian Nazi zombie flick. Gore galore, mildly entertaining.

think I gave it a 6 myself, was good silly entertainment. The ridiculous gorefest of the final 10 minutes was pretty damn funny. Entered Evil dead II territory for a few minutes. Posted these on the old board though it died about 5 minutes later One Million Years B.C. (1966) Always tend to find Hammer films hit or miss, this was definitely a miss. Harryhausen's stop-motion effects still hold up to this day, I'd still rather see that than bad CGI in a modern film. Unfortunately I found the film very uninteresting. 4 El Mariachi (1992) A decent film which I enjoyed but I immediately watched it again with the directors commentary & it was a fascinating listen. Sure it's a million miles away from being a great film but when you think it was made with just a few thousand dollars it's a pretty remarkable achievement in low-budget film making 7 Once Upon A Time In The West (1968) A true masterpiece in film making in every aspect. Top 10 of all time for me, about as perfect as it gets. 10 & Watched this when I was crying over the loss of the soapbox 44 Inch Chest [2009] Obviously I love Ray Winstone, the blokes a complete legend but I really wish he'd now totally move away from the cockney hard man parts that made him so famous. He's always good at them but unfortunately if the script isn't up to much it becomes tiresome, theres only so many films where you can put up with 90 minutes of every second word being FUCKING or CUNT. This was one of those, was like they'd decided to try a Reservoir Dogs with a bunch of old cockneys. Some of the banter was quite humorous but the film left me feeling pretty much cold. Is about time Ray steered well clear of these type of films, he's sensational in the proposition plus he's had impressive minor parts in big blockbusters of recent years, he doesn't need to do the worn out Guy Richie type of cockney shit anymore. It's been done to death & isn't interesting anymore. Perhaps worth a watch when it's on TV but otherwise I wouldn't recommend. 5

oh yeh forgot I also watched: Police Academy [1984] Mahoney is one cool bastard. For something that came out pretty much mid 80's its kinda surprising the amount of racist names thrown about in this film, this is a silly comedy yet they throw in the word coon as well as other racist slurs plus theres some naked breasts, a comedy of this kind would never have some of the themes that this had nowadays. Fun in places but not as funny as I remembered 6 Also, am I the only one that thinks they look alike?

He actually made the film for 7,000 dollars, once it was bought by the publishing company they spent alot of money on post-production work and promotion but the bare bones of the fllm what you see on the screen was made with the 7,000

True Blood - Season 2 (2009) Like the first season, this remains wildly entertaining. I find the over-the-topness hilarious and fun. Your results may vary of course. But this is another show where I just start watching and don't stop. It ties mystery, gore and humor together with love stories and a large cast. 8/10

The Wrestler - 9/10 The ending pretty much killed my soul. It's not that it was a bad ending, but I REALLY wanted things to work out for him. He was SO close to getting it all together. It was just heartbreaking when he pissed it all away. I got really emotionally invested in this movie and that hasn't happened in ages. Shed a manly tear in a few scenes. Rourke was simply amazing in this film. I cannot fathom how he didn't win an Oscar for this role.
This scene will always stick with me:

tbh I thought it would of been a cop out had he fixed his life out & got the fairytale ending, one of the reasons the film was received so well was for that very reason.

Like I said the ending wasn't bad, just heartbreaking. I suppose it doesn't make sense that I dropped it to an 8 for that reason. I shall fix that.

Yeh I just watched Shutter Island a few days ago, thought it was pretty damn good too So....at the end when they were waiting there to see if he went mental again, he's was pretending right? So they'd fry his brain, but really he was sane

Think so. That thing he said leads me to think so. that guy tries to call him back and shouts "teddy" which dicaprio just ignores, and I think if he was mental he would have still responded to what he thought his name was...fuck knows though
