Terrible terrible film. It was painful to watch at times and I can't imagine what Ewan and Jim felt when they watched this back after filming, (embarassed I would expect)
I wanted to switch it off after half an hour but stupidly persisted.
Seriously poor story along with poor acting.
all of arrested development, bar the last two episodes. Im holding onto those babies. 10/10 didnt HBO get the hints?
Sympathy for Lady Vengeance [2005] I must admit this film went totally over the top of my head, the other two films in the Vengeance trilogy were bizarre at times, twisted & needed to given full attention to follow but there was times I didn't have a fucking clue what was going on, who I was watching & why they were doing what they were doing Like Oldboy & Mr Vengeance they are shot wonderfully, this film starts off in full colour and as the film goes on the colour slowly fades until you are left with just black & white, I didn't even notice this until I realised I was watching scenes in total black & white. Feel bad rating this soon as I totally didn't get it so I will revisit it sometime, probably do some reading on what the fuck it's about but for now just a 5.
Thought this might be a bit shit but it was really entertaining in the end. It's nice to see Hollywood make a light film, no need to bog it down with loads of contrived nonsense.
Aye I had the exact same first reaction to Lady Vengeance mahoney, should also go back to it sometime
The American Office. Mate gave me the first 2 series on DVD for free (10/10) "The only thing I am worried about... is getting a boner." Shame there wasn't a little more Todd Packer - 8.5/10 Chasing Amy. Was always enthralled by this whenever I'd come in 20 minutes into it when it was on telly, but sitting through it all for the first time... it just felt cold and dated - 6/10
Treme- it's really good and the music, fuck me. Worth to see it just because of that. It's intense though not in the same sense as the wire. It's slower paced and the story floats (lol) around New Orleans after katrina. it deals with the people and how they try to get their lives back together. It's simple and its really good. 8/10
Pushing Tin: Only watched it cause of John Cusack (I'd watch anything with John Cusack, tbh) and Cate Blanchett (girl crush) but I wasn't that impressed. It's kind of funny how an actor like him (who's super talented and super famous) can do so many sub-par films throughout his career (Must Love Dogs, anyone?) yet still be super famous and still make so many people want to watch his films religiously. 5/10
I should probably download me some Arrested Development, huh.
2012 - Hokey disaster movie with some bitchin effects + a stupid plot, but I was actually entertained by it. None of the performances were annoying as is usually the case with stuff like this (aside from Woody Harrelson playing a nut). Nothing you need to see, but definitely watchable 6/10
The Ninth Gate - Fuck, I love Polanski, Johnny Depp is a favorite and I wanted this to be a good film. I love Devil stories, but it was just so silly! The end is WTF, the sex scene in front of the burning castle is odd and seems there purely for the sake of it, but at least Lena Olin is a fucking milf. Really annoyed me that I sat through the whole thing. 4/10
Paranormal Activity - Finally saw the theatrical version with the ending that sets up the sequel. I had seen it prior on a leak but with a different ending that closes the story off. 2nd time around it wasn't as spooky, but I was still surprised at quick of a watch it is and how watchable it was. 7/10
Funny if somewhat silly and not as much politics as I might like but broadly supportive at any rate.
8/10
That guy is so much awesome. He was underrated in that comedy show Undeclared and underrated in all his smaller film roles (including, but not exclusive to, The Rules of Attraction and Knocked Up.) He deserves a big break, I reckon.
amazing. forgot how good the xmas episode with denise having the baby is. when her waters break and jim says "denise love, are you sure it wasnt just a great big piss"

Seems impossible to find a decent torrent link for it. Did you rent it old-school, Floz?
'But boys will be boys and girls have those eyes that will cut you to ribbons sometimes. And all you can do is just wait by the moon and bleed if it's what she says you oughta do.'
Nah, a fellow leftie found it online somewhere and a bunch of us watched it round his house. I'll have to ask where he got it, I couldn't find it either.
