I'd have to give it an 8, steve. His bits of spanglish and that midget had me gasping.

A friend of mine was an editor on Pontypool so I saw an early cut of it, wasn't too impressed. Never bothered watching the finished product. The same director (Bruce MacDonald) made a film called Hard Core Logo, and if you haven't seen it, its a solid 9, go find it online, you will not regreat it. Great rock n roll mockumentary. The same friend is cutting the sequel, and I watched the picture locked cut the other day, its gonna be fucking awesome (I could be biased).

Κυνόδοντας (Dogtooth) [2010] Thought this was a pretty good film & I'd probably of given it a 7 had I posted on here straight after watching but it's really stayed with me & I've been thinking about certain scenes all day & now want to watch it again. Really good thought provoking material. Definitely not for everyone, could see some people thinking this was the worst film they've ever seen but still it worked for me on many levels. 8 You are probably one of the few who actually enjoyed this film. I saw many people walking away from the cinema completely annoyed. All the perversity, misleading information and even the lack of development on the siblings, it is just insane. I felt distressed by the abrupt ending, but I guess that it's open to interpretation. It happened the same to me with some scenes, I could stop thinking about the dance scene for a while. Such a bizarre and disturbing film, but still completely interesting.

what is the plot of dogtooth? or is that why it's offensive/disturbing?

Eastbound & Dowan - Season 2 - Ep1 I thought it was okay but it was a little slow for the first 10mins or so. I can see it picking up though in the following eps. 7/10. IT'S BACK? WHY WASN'T I PREVIOUSLY AWARE OF THIS? WHY AM I TYPING IN CAPITALS? FUCK YEAH.

Such a bizarre and disturbing film, but still completely interesting. Glad you dig it as well, I'm definitely going to watch it again real soon, as for the ending I thought it was a great idea to leave it open to interpretation, for me I'd of thought she would of been far too scared to get out of the car, if you've spent your entire life within the confounds of a few rooms then surely you'd be absolutely terrified to walk into a world that you know so little about full of strangers Erica, dogtooth plot: Three teenagers are confined to an isolated country estate that could very well be on another planet. The trio spend their days listening to endless homemade tapes that teach them a whole new vocabulary. Any word that comes from beyond their family abode is instantly assigned a new meaning. Hence 'the sea' refers to a large armchair and 'zombies' are little yellow flowers. Having invented a brother whom they claim to have ostracized for his disobedience, the uber-controlling parents terrorize their offspring into submission. The father is the only family member who can leave the manicured lawns of their self-inflicted exile, earning their keep by managing a nearby factory, while the only outsider allowed on the premises is his colleague Christina, who is paid to relieve the son of his male urges. Tired of these dutiful acts of carnality, Christina enlists the elder daughter for some girl-on-girl action, carelessly disturbing the domestic balance. Soon enough, sex has spread throughout the household like fireThe Runaways [2010] Was ok, bit average to be honest. You'd have a job finding a more cliché & predictable rock story to tell & the director's decision to shoot key scenes so they looked like an MTV music video totally took me out of the picture. 5

The Social Network - 8.5/10
Damn, this was a pretty good movie I didn't have high expectations going in just because I thought it was going be a bum fest for the creator of facebook, but it was very enjoyable.

Downloading that South of the Border just now. Looks interesting, nice one. Watched the first episode of the new season of Eastbound & Down last night. Predictably hilarious to say the least. Love the direction they've taken it. Wasn't expecting it at all.

4 you'd think chris rock and tracy morgan would be funnier but no. this movie does not showcase their talent properly at all. Agree. And I read a lot of reviews saying this was better than the English original. So that really makes you wonder how crap that was!?

Kristin is great as always but the story line could have been developed into something much more deep. Now it felt very shallow and what was up with the lack of extras and stuff in the movie? It felt like it was filmed in a small town in the middle of nowhere by a bunch of college students. Very weird. Watching this film definitely doesn't make you feel the power that the group had and the impact they made in music.

They had no power, they were basically a rubbish women knockoff of much better acts that nowadays would be comparable to Jet. The impact they had was only because they had tits, wasn't because their music was any good. I agree with your points on the film though. The Goonies [1985] Still love this as much as when I was a kid, what a film. 9

Oh, don't get me wrong. I don't hold their music in any high regard whatsoever. But, as you say, their tits made them have an impact. If that was fair to the good female bands that didn't sell themselves out so obviously, is not the point.
It's a very clear example of how rubbish the world is sometimes. But in whatever way you look at it, they were still an important band.

And back to the movie discussions.. why don't they make movies like Goonies anymore? (Or fun cop movies with tacky soundtracks.) Am I too grown up to spot them these days?

Nice, glad you liked them JP. Good, The Bad.. has much more depth to it & has a much bigger feel to everything, hope u like it. You should also check out Django which is very much like the two you've seen but much harder hitting but most of all if you see it cheap pick up once upon a time in the west which I think is better than the Dollars trilogy & one of the most perfect films of all time. Maniac Cop 2 [1990] Pretty shit, I quite like the first one but this is crap, only lasts an hour and 20 and over ten of that is clips from the first film, daft plot & whoever decided it would be a good idea to kill off bruce campbell after 15 minutes is a fucking mong. 4
