also, I think that 'for a few dollars more' is better than 'a fistful of dollars'. Lee van cleef, the name itself is probably the coolest name in the history.

since i was a wee kid i always was fascinated by vikings, i can't explain why or how exactly it happened. Nevertheless this film was pretty fucking cool and i only wish it had more new world scenes with some natives involved... 8/10

Great great movie about two romanian girls in 1987s romania trying to solve a problem they have come into. Bleak, intense and acting strong enough for any award.

also, I think that 'for a few dollars more' is better than 'a fistful of dollars'. Lee van cleef, the name itself is probably the coolest name in the history. I think I'd agree, only slightly though. A Few Dollars kinda gets forgotten because you've got A Fistful which is the original that set the tone then The Good, The Bad which is the huge epic, A Few Dollars is the middle ground of the pair so doesn't get mentioned no where near as much as it should. Murder In Coweta County [1983] The story was really intriguing but it felt like & most probably was a straight to TV movie. Johnny Cash is not a great actor but does enough to hold his own here but it just feels so cheap and nasty, in the right hands this story could make a real good film. 5 The Dirty Dozen [1967] First time I'd seen this, fucking superb, Donald Sutherland, Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson I never realised how much Tarantino had pinched from this for Inglourious basterds. Epic stuff especially when you think they actually build that Nazi headquarters specifically for the film to then blow it up at the end. 9 The Serpent and the Rainbow [1988] Pretty average Wes Craven Film. I thought Bill Pullman was completely useless in this, story wasn't that interesting either. 5

Yeah it's one of the best westerns I've seen, Clint has so many classic scenes in that film.

fade to black (1980)7 enjoyable 80s b-movie slasher. a movie geek goes on a bit of a killing spree parodying various movie kills. decent idea and pretty well done tbh.

Sex & The City 2? srsly? it was on in a hostel and i couldn't get to sleep + i was curious to see how bad it actually was. plus i was watching it with a fit german girl. still no excuse though, the film was unspeakably disgusting. i don't know how they get away with this shit. there is a moment of pringles product placement which is one of the most toe-curling bits of footage yet perpetrated.

Drag Me To Hell second time i've seen this. really like it, has a lot of the dynamics and the ruthlessness of a proper, old-school campy horror. there are a few scenes which really break up the momentum and that is pretty annoying (the scene with the arm in the mouth when she is gathering up her possessions to raise the 10 grand, fucking rubbish) but overall its not enough to significantly disrail the film as a whole. plus justin long is in it and i always enjoy watching him, for some reason. 7.8/10

Mr Nice [2010] I felt the first half hour was rushed & almost needless, could of well been narrated in a few sentences in favour of spending more time on his family life & the various deals, fake names/disguises he used to pull off his deals. Also there was some dodgy CGI of old TCOTU, either that or they superimposed him on old stock footage, I'm not sure what but it looked a bit silly. Apart from that it was pretty good, Rhys Ifans seemed a natural enough choice to play Marks & he did a good job, also David Thewlis was really good as an IRA nutcase. Quite funny at times, touching in others, a long way from perfect but I'd say it was a pretty good attempt & well worth a watch. 7 Also re-watched The Getaway with Steve Mcqueen last night as it was on BBC2 8

Mio caro assassino [My Dear Killer] [1972] Was ok, as often with Giallo's the 'who done it' part is so ridiculously far fetched to the point you are not even arsed who it fucking was anymore. Nice score by Morricone though & some nice kills. 6 House Of Wax [1953] I was really surprised just how well this held up considering it's age. I expected it to be alright but it was infact really good. Vincent Price is superb in it & theres also a real early performance by BRONSON playing a dumb mute. Originally came out in 3D so it's kinda funny to see the scenes that were put in purely for that gimmick such as someone with one of those table tennis bats with the ball on a string hitting it as close to the camera as possible. Seeing the wax figures melt looked so good. I'm almost half tempted to watch the Paris Hilton version 8

Breakdown [1977] Expected this to be pretty shit but was surprisingly pretty good. Nothing too memorable but was pretty tight & ticked along at a fast pace. Good enjoyable flick 7 I Confess [1953] Hadn't seen this one before, a real simple concept told so well. 8 Profondo Rosso (Deep Red] [1975] slight dissapointment, had read so many good things about it & many consider this the best Giallo ever made but I prefer the other Argento ones I've seen to this. Still good, superb soundtrack by Goblin & the look of the film is amazing in places but I just felt the story felt a little clumsy in places. 7 Crash [1996] Have liked every Cronenberg film I've seen so far, he's slowly becoming one of my favourite directors. Fucking bizarre concept for a film, under a lesser director it would of fell flat on it's face but he managed to pull it off. 7.5
