Evil Dead III - Army of Darkness - 7/10 Wanted to see this for years and finally managed to get a hold of it earlier on today. As ridiculous and as funny as I thought It'd be. Yeah love these. There doing a re boot tho, will kill em with all the cgi and you need Bruce Campbell as ash Sam Raimi is going to direct it though so hopefully it'll be good. He still uses Campbell in his films when he can so even if it's a smaller part I'd expect him to be there somewhere. Considering how much I love the first two I've still not got round to seeing the third Evil Dead. #85 Peeping Tom (1960) Disappointed with this. It's hailed as a classic & always mentioned alongside Hitchcock's work. I also know many that prefer this to psycho & whilst I appreciated that when it was made 50+ years ago it was pushing the boundaries but I didn't think it held up anywhere near as well as any of Hitchcock's great films. It was good but that's about as far as I'd go. I thought some of the performances (especially the lead actress) were a bit ropey & it didn't deliver enough of the voyeuristic moments that made the film stand out in the first place. Good, but nothing that memorable these days. 7

A Fist Full of Dollars - 9/10 Bought the Eastwood/Leone collection (4 DVD's for £9) a few weeks back and been off ill today so thought I'd get round to them. Loved this, Eastwood is a total fucking don in it. Awesome soundtrack, too.
For A Few Dollars More - 8/10 Enjoyed the dynamic between Eastwood & Van Cleef in this. Didn't feel as gritty as Fistful but still a great movie. Felt like it had more comedic elements in it.

[083] ¡Three Amigos! (1986)Steve Martin and Chevy Chase in the same film? SOLD ! I love those two to death. I loved how CC only had a few one-liners every now and then but still managed to be the funniest one and make me roar with laughter every single time. It was nice seeing Phil Hartman, I miss him. This isn't the best SNL spin-off film or anything (that one's still Wayne's World), but it's entertaining nonetheless; I'm a sucker for this kind of silly comedy. "Well, we're just gonna have to use our brains", "damnit!" , also, I'm gonna be using "you son of a motherless goat". ;D

How do you feel about Omar, then, Andypandy? Just noticed this, sorry. He's brilliant, how can anyone not love him? Well, maybe love isn't the correct word. Lesser television programs could revolve solely around a character like Omar, which would be no bad thing, but it just goes to show how excellent The Wire is/was. The sawn-off shotgun, the trench-coat, the unsettling whistle, what a man. Indeed.

Shiiit the way Omar makes his grand appearance in s03e01 I almost jumped with joy. [084] The Lost Boys (1987)Am I the only mongo who had never seen this? FFS I shit on myself sometimes from a long distance. Anyway I really liked it, but to me the film was about Corey Haim and the Frog boys, everything else was a bit too lukewarm (well, Keifer was good but that's a given, right?). Couldn't give a toss about Michael and Star, I mean I have more chemistry with babu's used socks, FFS, and I probably know them better than those two knew each other to 'care' so much about e/o, didn't make any sense at all. The effects were cool and I love that crazy 80's look. The opening song and sequence made me go .

Life On Mars - Series 1 & 2 - AMAZING Ashes To Ashes (Life On Mars spin-off/continuation) - Series 1 - A BIT SHIT Ashes To Ashes - Series 2 - A BIG IMPROVEMENT Ashes To Ashes - Series 3 - AMAZING What a show(s). D/l the torrents or buy the DVDs if you've never seen 'em. If you like cop shows, science-fiction, or ongoing narratives with great characters and loads of mystery, then it should be reet up your street. Is all wrapped up in a way LOST could only dream of, too. Welshylad agrees

I actually do agree with everything you've said. Spot on I just finished watching them all again last week, my missis wanted to watch em as she only saw bits and bobs when I was watching them. Don't think she got as wrapped up in them as me. But she did enjoy

Free Radicals- Unpublished, 2011 [15] men in long hair and cool moustaches skiing down mountains all over the world in deep powder etc. Key word is 'skiing'. A bit like last years and the year before that and the year before that. Doesn't really matter though as it's a good concept. Cool men skiing down steep mountains. And a hot woman skiing too. Not the best ski movies there is, but still. 8/10

[085] A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006)This was a pretty interesting film, never heard of it (thanks, rolli). I liked it a lot but as always, there were things I found went against the flow of it. Shia LaBeouf shines here, fuck's sake, he's becoming my favorite young actor, if he sticks to small films with big emotional roles like this, or goes for the comedy, it's a win-win for him. Pretty good performances from the younger actors, however, the emotional scene between adults Lauren and Dito felt flat for me; I felt like I was watching Rosario Dawson and Robert Downey Jr say their lines, I didn't feel a connection between them and I couldn't 'feel' the actual characters in the scene... On the other hand, I loved, loved all the scenes between Shia LaBeouf and Chazz Palminteri, amazing chemistry between them, they were the strongest point of the film. Anyway this is worth a watch if you like honest accounts of true life stories.

True Grit Great developed western by the Coens, couldn't have been otherwise though. Really like the performances, all of them (Barry Pepper FFS ) but had to make a conscious effort to forget Matt Damon was just Matt Damon doing a western, dunno why but he didn't fit for me at first. Can't wait to see John Wayne's performance on the old version, as Jeff Bridges is simply brilliant and the Duke is... The Duke. And what the fuck with people losing their arms this year? Even Mr Portato... A little respect and understanding for people 3 months in plaster! 8/10 127 hours So you know more or less what to expect of the film once you're sat down to watch it and still manages to keep you interested, considering the lack of events happening. James Franco is a don in my eyes and he does it well here too. Couldn't help but think that everything would have gone better if the guy listened to Oasis, I reckon I would had destroyed either the rock or my arm to Bring It On Down the first day. 7/10 Although I enjoyed them both, for different reasons I find none of them too special to recieve an Oscar, not even close tbh.

High Plains Drifter (1973)Yeah, still watching westerns Liked this. It's Eastwood's second film as director, and is a pretty good story, with a spin on the main character that i thought was decent The Cry Of The Owl (2009)Fuck me, this was bad. Stiles has less presence and charisma than you'd think was possible, and Considine just looks embarrased to be there

Clint Eastwood raping a women, the real deal. Have you seen the outlaw Jose Wales yet? For me it ranks alongside The Good, The Bad as the best Western Eastwood was involved with. It lacks the style of a Leone film but makes up with it but having really great characters & depth. Pale Rider is another really good Eastwood Western that he directed & starred in, came out in the mid 80's so I guess the Western wasn't really *in* around that time so it gets overlooked but it's well worth seeing & Clint's character is a bit different to what we're used to seeing.
#86 The Vengeance of She (1968) Slightly better than 'She' but still the plot & the execution was horrible. The opening 20 minutes on the boat in the 'real world' were done quite well then it just got silly & dull. 4.25
#87 Prehistoric Women (1967) Working my way through my Hammer boxset. I knew this would be pretty bad but didn't expect it to be this shit. I really wish Hammer had only made straight out horror films. Anything I've seen them do that could come under 'adventure' is pretty much useless. 3
#88 Space Jam (1996) Was flicking channels and this started on ITV & I ended up watching the entire film. I'll give it it's due it holds up probably a bit better than it should. The blend of real life & Cartoon effects still look good & whilst Michael Jordan is clearly not actor he gives a serviceable performance. I'd also forgot that Bill Murray was in this film so that was a bonus but still quite predictable & forgettable. 5
#89 Troll 2 (1990) Troll 2 is often cited as 'the worst movie of all time' so when I saw it was being shown in a cinema I had to go. It was fucking tremendous fun. The screening was a sell out so there was 250 people there late on a Saturday night, was really a good atmosphere for this kind of film & it lived up to it's name. The film is fucking ridiculous in every 'It's so bad it's good' way imaginable. The acting is atrocious, the whole audience was cracking up at almost every line delivered. The plot was insane & there was plenty of What The Fuck moments. I highly recommend this one to watch with a few friends & a bunch of beers. Had I watched it alone on a Tuesday night perhaps I wouldn't of loved it quite so much but still for anyone who enjoys incredibly shit films it's pure gold. 8
#90 Best Worst Movie (2009) After Troll 2 they screened Best Worst Movie which is a documentary into the cult of Troll 2 which was just as enjoyable as the film. Obviously none of the cast went on to achieve very much in acting so most the time was spent seeing what they have done with their lives since & how many of them have completely lost the plot. A great piece of documentary making as despite being such a light hearted subject it ended up being such an uplifting and joyful experience with surprisingly some few touching moments thrown in as well.
Also inbetween the two films they phoned up one of Troll 2's stars George Hardy for a conversation with the audience. He just wouldn't stop talking to the point everybody was in stitches.
All in all it was a top night & the best experience I've had at a cinema, well worth the 5 quid for the ticket. 8
