"Yes comrades.
I'm pleased to report that there's at least SOMETHING to report from our stop over in Copenhagen.
A lovely place. Wonderful people, so here goes.....
The day started with a trip to national Nordic television. They (whoever "they" are) had me on some breakfast TV show called "Weekend Weekend". So good they named it twice!!!! As you can imagine the show itself was a bit odd. It consisted of a few TV presenter types stood round an elbow high table talking about… well, I'm not quite sure what they was on about as my Danish is a bit rusty these days. It was a bit like that thing that Tim Lovejoy does back in England on a Sunday.
So there's me, some Danish singer-songwriter, a guy who is - and I quote - "Denmark's foremost authority on that holy instrument the Mellotron" (I made the holy bit up), and somewhat predictably...... a celebrity chef, who was gonna cook me an English breakfast.
Now… why is it called an "English" breakfast? Does anyone know?
One of the presenters did refer to the chef as a Michelin star cock at one point!!!! (She meant cook, one would have thought?)
So anyway, after the usual exchanges… you know the ones? They had me and the Mellotron expert stood round a Mellotron and discuss the virtues - of which there are many - of that wonderful piece of machinery. We discussed great Mellotron moments in rock ie. Nights In White Satin, Strawberry Fields, etc…
Now why any of this would be interesting to your average Nordic breakfast telly punter is beyond me but, y'know… whatever. The show was rounded off with a Beatles quiz!!
The gig was in some concert hall. Incredible place. It was like playing inside a hexagonal wooden box. Beautiful.
We played in the round and I must say, it was mega. Being totally surrounded by a load of Nordic beauties is good gear, let me tell you.
At one point a little lad ambled onstage!! He was only 5 years old!! Just think of how many t-shirts he could potentially buy in his lifetime!!! I think his dad sensed a photo opp' in between songs and shoved him up there. Charlie, his name was (I think). He was from Manchester, I believe!!
A top, top night. My favourite gig of the entire tour so far. Well done.
You find me back in Germany. Cologne, to be exact.
Looking forward to getting hold of the Sunday papers. City bagged another 5 goals yesterday. We are struttin' at the minute. None more so than Super Mario, who scored the goal of the season so far. Check it out, it's hilarious. That kid kills me.
In a bit.
GD.
Ps: I lost the fuckin' quiz on a tie break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"So… Cologne? Yes, it was good. Cold, wet and windy, as usual.
Mega news came through during the soundcheck. City and United have been drawn together in the FA cup!!! And more importantly I think I'm gonna be around!!! Bring it the fuck on.
The gig was a big 'un, relatively speaking. 4000 people. Great vibe… (man). Only spoiled by a few drunken English cunts asserting their Englishness down the front. Why do English people insist on doing that?? It's embarrassing… No wonder everyone hates them.
Top night all the same.
Arrived in Paris yesterday morning at about 7am!! It was still dark getting off the bus. Grim as fuck… and I'm staying in the same hotel as I was the last time I was here for a gig. (Y'know… when the "incident" occurred?) It brought back some heavy memories (man).
The day off was good though. Had a bit of a wander round. Not heading anywhere in particular. Got lost. I liked it.
Gotta go… I'm running out of change.
In a bit."

Noel did jokes, interacted with the crowd like never before yesterday in Paris. Felt like he's getting together his frontman act.

'That jet-lag will finally come in useful for something at last.' So... Paris?
Had a great night. Show was great. Crowd was great. Vibes was great.
Thanks to everyone that showed out for that little run around Europe. We had a great time. Some of the best gigs so far.
Legged it straight after the show back to Cologne to do some chat show. The Harald Schmidt Show? The German Letterman? No?
It was the typical timetable:
- Arrive. - Sit around for a few hours. - Do a rehearsal. - Sit around for a few more hours. - Do another rehearsal. - Sit around for a few more hours. - Do one more rehearsal. - Sit around. - Do the thing. - Then leave.
You currently find me in the sunshine in Los Angeles. Over here to do a bit of Christmas promo, amongst other things.
Apparently there's gonna be a lunar eclipse at 6am tomorrow!! That jet-lag will finally come in useful for something at last.
In a bit.

I agree, it was a good gig, much better than the past 5 years with Oasis really.

"Now then… Woke up yesterday to the news that there'd been - and I quote - a shooting rampage not five minutes from my hotel!!
A SHOOTING RAMPAGE!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently some kid (27) just randomly shot seven people in the street before he was himself shot in the head by the cops!!!!
What the fuck?? I love this place, but fuck me, that's insane.
Had a three hour drive to the gig that was in San Diego. I have to say it was a rather enjoyable journey. Pacific coast highway, beautiful sunshine, listening to tunes on headphones for three hours? I forgot when the last time was I had the pleasure of that experience.
The gig was in some big fuck off arena. It was the local radio station's Christmas festival thing. They have a lot of them over here. They invite the acts that get the most airplay over the year and they must've been hammering the record. Haven't been invited to one for over 10 years, maybe even longer!!!! You only do 30 mins so it's a piece of piss and all. All the hits, thank you and goodnight.
Got another one tonight for that radio station KROQ? Looking forward to it. It's only up the street here so the journey won't be anywhere near as enjoyable but it'll have the added thrill of maybe getting shot at!!!
Wish me luck.
In a bit.
GD."

"So comrades, for the last time in 2011… Yes!!
Right… It's been a few days, so here's what I can remember.
That KROQ thing was by far and away the most oddest "gig" I've ever done. Not for any particular reason other than it was just weird.
These things are put on by the radio stations. So the people (competition winners) it seems are only interested in what they've heard on the playlist for said radio station. You play anything that hasn't been a single (whatever that means these days) and it's met with total apathy. By the same rule, you play anything they've heard on the airwaves and the place goes apeshit. Like I say… weird.
I did get to meet that Florence lady from that Florence and the Machine. Nice girl. Couldn't be arsed sticking around to see the rest of the bands though (no offence).
So, the next day we was up at Warner Bros' studio to do that Conan Show (O'Brien, not the barbarian). Long day. Did manage to jib up to Hillside Studios - where I mixed the HFB album - to watch Man City-v-Chelsea. We got beat. We were a bit unlucky. Not nice losing though as it's something we are not used to… this season anyway.
The Conan thing was alright in the end.
Now… Yesterday everybody flew back home leaving me here to shoot another video for yet another single. It's turning into a 'Thriller', this album. Four blimmin' singles!!!! Unheard of, eh??
I'm doing it with the same people that have done the previous three so far. Gotta say, it might have been THE MOST fun I've ever had on a video shoot EVER. I won't give the game away now but it was a proper laugh.
Flying home myself today. Got a month or so off. Looking forward to seeing Nancy and the young guns.
Next time you hear from me I'll be in the great city of Tokyo, in the great nation of Japan. Mad food!! Crazy kids!! Awkward interviews!! Sleep deprivation!! No wonder they call it the land of the rising sun.
SAYO-fuckin'-NARA.
GD."

"Comrades… Let me start by wishing all of y'all a happy, happy new year.
I'm in the great city of Tokyo, in the great nation of Japan.
Got a couple of gigs here before I move on to Australia and New Zealand. Somewhat predictably it's freeeeeeeezing.
Did manage a little bit of kip last night which is always a nice bonus out here.
Looking forward to this 2012 business. If this year is half as good as last year then I might actually retire. What would be the point in carrying on??
And in any case, ain't the world supposed to end this year?? Fuck the Mayans, I say!!!
You currently find me watching the NFL play-offs. Mega game. 49'ers - Saints. Japanese commentary!! Very mad!!!
ONWARDS.
GD."

Dream On is awful, axl. I agree with you on Broken Arrow, though. It is certainly the song that para and I most enjoy.

I was wondering if you and para ever call one another para or bakester in non forum life? I hope yes, but think I may be wrong.

Rounder,
Everyone calls me bakester, including para, as it is my legit nickname. I do not call her para because the only place she uses that handle is here.
Regards, bakester

He should have released Broken arrow or Everybodys on the run as the 4th single. I see the album is back up to #8 in the charts. Looks like its going to sell more than the last Oasis album in this country.
