I went to both shows at Massey Hall in Toronto and have never been so underwhelmed at any Oasis related gig. I love Noel and the songs he has written more than anything, but the set is just too "safe" and every song the band plays sounds unbelievably generic.
The lack of any meaningful guitar solos is very disappointing. There is absolutely no reason to have two guitarists for this tour. 95% of the time Noel and the other guitarist are playing the exact same thing. Their guitars compete for the same space in the spectrum of audio frequencies and clash to produce one big "muddy" sound. Jeremy Stacey is a horrendous drummer; even worse than Zak Starkey. It sounds like he is bashing on pots and pans with a wooden spoon. The bass player is alright and Mike Rowe is brilliant.
Both shows were identical. And I don't just mean setlist wise- I'm talking about every note played was the same on both nights. The band surrounding Noel sounds very amateurish compared to Oasis with Andy and Gem et al.
Again, I love Noel but this tour is tragically boring.

Nicely made point. I thought the gig kicked ass though.

Yeah, both nights had some great moments and overall it is still a thrill to see the man play at that type of venue (Danforth Music Hall in 2006 was also a treat). The following changes would make the set incredible:
Drop:
(It's Good) To Be Free The Good Rebel Wonderwall Talk Tonight Half The World Away (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach
Include:
A Simple Game Of Genius Roll It Over Let's All Make Believe The Fame The Masterplan Slide Away

Also, he needs to completely ditch his acoustic pick up. Sounds horrible. Just mic it like Neil Young did at Massey Hall in 1971. Make it actually sound like an acoustic guitar...

I'd kill Little By Little before Talk Tonight.

I thought the drummer only had one setting, which was "ROCK". There were a few songs (i.e. talk tonight, and one or two of the new ones) where it needs a gentler touch.
Loved both shows, though. Especially last night, as I was distracted a bit on the first night by a drunken collar-popping fratboy in front of me who was filming entire songs on his iphone and doing eminem handgestures to the lyrics. Quite bizarre.
Wooden shjips were awesome, too.

Exactly ;D ;D ;D ;D Everything else was perfectly pitched as Bampot pointed out. All very structured and predictable. The drummer was having it throughout and giving it a bit of bollox. I like him. He looks like a bin man

Talk tonight is one of my 4-5 fave oasis songs, but I didn't really love this arrangement. I've always felt it to be something of a mournful, slow song (which is why my favourite version is that one they did for the BBC in 2000.) This one was too...peppy, or something.
The Hours were...meh. They`re exactly average.

Talk Tonight and Half the World away are too poppy on this tour, he should have kept them intimate. Good Rebel didn't work live. As for show being identical, well, wasn't it already the case with Oasis for the past 10 years ?
I quite like the drummer and obvisouly Mike Rowe (but he's too low in the mix). The other two look and sound like sessions musicians.

just seems rather telling that for all his years of blaming liam when it comes to not mixing up setlists and not pushing the boundaries, he's not mixing up the setlist and his album is mid-tempo dadrock.

The accusations he has completely spun information throughout the last 5-10 years have been proved completely true. I don't see how he could possibly argue with this which is probably why he went with the witty/funny "Andy's entitled to Liam's opinion" rather than daring to offer an actual opinion.

I went both nights and he wore the same clothes both nights ( ). But I thought both shows were fucking great. LOVED the arrangement on Talk Tonight (especially Rowe's swirling piano outro). Would be nice if he tweaked the setlist, but I'm guessing those are the songs they rehearsed and the other guys in the band just don't know them. Shit excuse, but I'm sure that's the reason. Also, got to briefly chat with zfiddy. Legend. (Sorry I didn't get a chance to chat longer; that guy in front of you in line was one of my best friends and I hadn't seen him in 5 years. The last time I saw him, I had punched him in the face .
