I like buying vinyl because it reminds me of when I was a kid and I used to go to America and I only had $20 to spend so I spent so much time walking back and forth comparing covers, deciding on just one and then driving all the way back forcing my parents to take eddie money out of their cd player and putting on shit like ocean colour scene or the verve.
so i don't mind buying new reissues or anything like that cos they look sexy and the whole ritual of playing a record gives me a stiffy.
I don't even have that many records but im working on it, i think i only have like 20,but they're all in great condition

so buying vinyls reminds you of buying CDs? (sorry, couldn't resist ) by the way, I think Karl sums it up correctly: beatiful pieces of furniture but the game isn't worth the candle. In an ideal world we all would have huge vinyl collections, a room entirely devoted to music to store them and a peruvian butler who keeps them clean for us.

Whether it's worth it is all personal. Is spending more than 2000 euro on a car worth it? Not for me, but for others apparently it is. I don't own any vinyl but I can sure see why people love collecting it. Used to have a ton of Beatles and Neil Young LP's my father gave btw, but I told my brother he could have them. Don't own a vinyl player

I was a kid,i had no idea what 12" vinyl was.... I was speaking about the emotion of buying music, mp3 had killed that for me,I like spending an hour at the record store comparing and making a decision. As an adult, spending money on small terrible little pieces of plastic is a no, even if they are 75 cents, cd's are shit. you make it sound like they're the size of windows and you got to crank the record player multiple times just to get a few seconds of music I don't live in an apartment so storage is a non issue for me. Just as in everything else, I'd rather not drink tequila at all than drink a $20 bottle of the stuff, not worth it.

Anyone got any special stuff on Record Store day? There was a Lee Hazlewood release that I managed to pick up, which is quite nice. Nice booklet with liner notes, and nudity on the cover. They sold out the lilliputter's EP quite quickly, so I didn't get that one.

Anyone got any tips or advice for getting a vinyl player with built in speakers? I've been looking on xhamster but can't seem to find any.. The best ones are probably still gonna be average sound wise, but I just cannot be arsed any more with the hi-fi set up I have atm. So, any tips?

Anyone got any tips or advice for getting a vinyl player with built in speakers? I'm looking for something like that too. Just received the Howl & Howl Sessions EP and want to listen to the alternative version of Sympathetic Noose before I die.

Well, expensive.. About 80 euro of shipping and 'outside of EU tax' further I can confirm that it is pretty shit. Ideally, something that is made in China and sold in the US&A could be dropped out of the plane about half way into the shipments journey? Since it turned up broken any way, and I had to put in great efforts to fix it myself as the elastic band that makes it spin had come off. It works now, but the sound is shitter than expected. Subsequently, I feel that my dear Style Council LP's are not getting the delicate nurture they deserve. Think I'm gonna trust it with my High Flying Turds vinyls and not bother with it further..

Had some decent finds the other day, a first pressing of Flowers by the Stones on Decca and a rare French Kinks compilation. Also albums by: Bo Diddley, Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker the Pale Fountains and Buddy Holly. Also finally managed to get 22 Dreams for a decent price. No Style Council but still enjoyable.

Heard about that blur boxset? It has all of their albums in beautiful vinyl, $250 dollars if I'm not wrong.

I am too much of an oasis fundamentalist, especially for that price. Looks very good though.
