New BJM

Yeah most the record has been up there for a while. Had a little listen to a few bits seemed ok. Meant to be demo's with cleaner mixes on the record though I doubt it will be much different. I'll continue to check out anything Anton releases but I'm not expecting him to come up with anything great from now on.

He is probably still capable, it's just the style of music he is going for lately doesn't appeal to me in the same way the classic bjm sound did.

I've checked most now, all these loops and drones and crap, it's all so empty.

The last album was one of the worst things I've ever heard. But then I saw them live that same year, and they were fucking amazing. Needless to say they didn't play any new material.

Yeah it seems so, epic epic band but that last is complete dog shit and I can't see them pulling it back really.

I remember panning the last album on here, and Andy (ginger one) and tucker got REAL mad. I'm sure it turned into one of those horrendous three page forum arguments that used to happen fairly regularly, generally involving Horizon or Abs. This place sure could use some of them to liven it up

theres a fucking fantastic interview on youtube with Anton and some really annoying TCOTU journalist who is completely out of his depth that you should watch if you've not seen it. Anton is at times fascinating and others hilarious. The journalist hasn't even heard the record and anton puts on lets go fucking mental for him

Anton's lost it. Well he lost it awhile ago but still all the rubbish he's putten out the last 4 years is purely meh at best.

I'm not sure a tune that sounds like it was written in 1967 and recorded in 1996 should be celebrated but still they sound like proper BJM again

Blue Order New Monday

As shit as they are now I saw them back in 2008 or 2009 and it's still the best gig I've ever been to. They only played for about an hour. 15 minutes of that was his underage bird being a Yoko , yet the remaining 45 minutes were pure majestic psychedelia. Let's just hope Anton OD's or something (preferably after the tour, obviously) ditches all the sycophants and gets a new perspective on music.

the last couple have been far from great by any means, but i can forgive them for that quite easily for the joy their music's given me. them in wellington in 2010 proabably the best gig ive ever seen.
