Because Albarn needs to dedicate time to writing more awful vanity projects working on critically acclaimed operas and collaborations with other artists.

I don't know if they will, I reckon they get along well in small doses but too much studio time could break it all apart again. So if even all we got are little pills of happiness like Fool's Day, that's fine with me.

That new opera album he has out is fucking embarrassing. Enjoying the new Bobby Womack record that he's produced though.

I supose it lacks the visuals, doesn't it? It's just plain boring without them.

Under the Westway is schmaltzy, cheesy rubbish. Sounds like an Oasis b-side and could easily soundtrack the opening credits to a gentle northern sitcom.
The Puritan is ace.
Dr Dee album is dull out of context; the opera itself is really really good, and the songs sound right alongside the performance.
In the last couple of years i've seen; Blur twice (Glastonbury, Hyde Park), Gorillaz (The Roundhouse), The Good the Bad & The Queen (The Coronet) and the Dr Dee opera. I've never been a massive fan of the bloke, but the Missus idolises him; and I have to say every one of those performances has been excellent.
I have a new found resepct for the geezer.
