Downloaded the boxset. Been a while since I listened to any Blur so I'm looking forward to going through their career. Also was never that clued up on B-sides and whatnot so look forward to all this bonus material. Listened to Leisure last night, dated terribly that record. It's still overall pretty decent mostly because of the two big singles and Sing but most the rest of it is kind of forgettable. Just sticking on the bonus side, the opening track 'I know (extended mix)... Fucking hell they were really going for the baggy Charlatans sound with that one.

Modern Life Is Rubbish I still think is an excellent record. Theres some duff tracks on the second half but apart from that it still holds up well.
As for the bonus disc, it's slightly better than the Leisure era B-sides but not by much. Obviously 'Pop Scene' is a classic Blur single. Aside from that I really like 'When the Cows Come Home' & 'Young & Lovely'. The rest is completely forgettable.
When I'm done I'll put together a best of Blur's B-sides if anyones arsed. I'd imagine they'll hit their stride with the B-sides on Parklife onwards.

The 13 b sides are great. All We Want is a big tune.
I remember the BLUR album have decent B-Sides as well.

Looking forward to revisiting 13. It's the one Blur record I don't know inside out. I could never get into most of it minus the obvious tunes and Bugman.
I'd say I was half tempted by that Hyde Park gig but when I see the price I'll change my mind. Fuck 'em.

Parklife B-Sides are pretty weak, I downloaded the box set too. I put together a little B-Side & Non album tracks playlist yonks ago that is pretty decent. Recently threw Mr Briggs and Under The Westway into the mix as they played Mr Briggs live at the BBC thing:
All Your Life (Blur era) Get Out of Cities (Blur) All We Want (13) Fools Day (Single) Young & Lovely (MLIR) Far Out (Remix) (13) Music is My Radar (Single) St Louis (TGE) Mr Briggs (Leisure) Popscene (Single) Under The Westway (Single) Polished Stone (Blur) Ultranol (TGE) Woodpigeon Song (Blur) Bustin & Dronin (Blur)
Blur & 13 have really strong B-Sides I think

Yeah I went through the Parklife B-sides last night and most of them were either throwaway jokey tracks or just not very good. I like Magpie, Peter Panic & Theme From An Imaginary Film though.

Dunno that end. I'd imagine they'd all be packed. Always quite liked the green man on berick st (morning glory st) which is just off oxford st, 10-15 minute walk from hyde park. Cheap and cheerful, never too busy considering it's location.

I could, see them do almost the same set they are gonna do at hyde park a few years ago, will end up costing me about 120 quid for a day out. Will give it a reluctant miss
