The one who has to choose something should choose something before this dies.

Never got PM'd a link? The SuperJohnny I know wouldn't sit around waiting for PM's, he'd be out there hunting for it himself. And yeah P**** T******n, The £250,000 (that we couldn't afford) we spent on that guy and his subsequent injury and shite performances actually put us in administration, we wouldn't be in our current position if we hadn't bought him. I remember at the time we were in for Gary Hooper and Peter Thompson, the Hooper bid was rejected, the Thompson bid wasn't, So yeah Peter Thompson fucked Stockport County

The Virginmarys - King of Conflict
as i said earlier in this thread, i checked out a couple of tunes by this band on youtube when tucker first mentioned it. they were awful. unfortunately it turns out the album is actually worse than those. it sounds like jet crossed with early feeder but about 1/4 as good as that would be if that is even possible. horrible horrible album with no originality or redeeming features. i think its taken over from travis' the invisible band as the worst album ive ever heard and in comparison it makes that seem like a masterpiece.
1/10
best tunes : my little girl - just cause its the shortest one and is over most quickly

Denim - Back in Denim
Firstly I've never really delved into Felt really, even though from what I've read, I reckon I would like them, just one of those bands i'll one day 'get round to'. By proxy of that, i've never heard of this record and had no idea what to expect. I went in fresh without reading anything about it and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't overly keen on the first couple of songs on first listen, but then there is a great run from 'Bubblehead' to 'I Saw the glitter on your face' where those poppy hooks and melodies really suck you in, 'The Osmonds' in particular I love. On an individual song basis, most of this is fantastic, but there just seems to be something lacking as whole which I cant quite put my finger on. I just don't think its an album I will come back to over and over, though that probably says more about me than the actual album. 7/10

I'd love to be able to say this was some sort of massive forum wind-up, but, I'm too honest for that; it's not What can I say? Every time I've listened to this, I've enjoyed it. The 2nd or 3rd time I listed to it, I was walking to work, and it go me totally pumped up If that makes me a total shitrat then I'll duly accept my fate. All I can do is ask for forgiveness from the people who had to listen to this and hated every second (so all of you, basically) Please don't hate me, fellas.

The virginmarys - King of conflict
I probably shouldn't have read the reviews before I heard the album because I was basically expecting the sound of someone farting into a microphone for 45 minutes, so in that sense, I was pleasantly surprised. In another, more accurate sense, this was awful. They sound like a shit Jet, and I can't think of a more damning statement since I say that as someone who thinks Jet was the worst band to ever roam the earth. There's nothing inherently good or bad about this, it's just...boring. And there's one song on it (out of mind, possibly?) that sounds like they went rummaging through Liam G's garbage in 2001 and found a draft of a song that they threw away as "not even good enough for a don't believe the truth b-side".
2.5/10

my choice then.... james chance and the contortions - buy (1979) www.mediafire.com/download/uw2nqir41jj/Buy.zipjust used google to find that link so not sure on tagging or quality but you cant find something suitable elsewhere im sure if that one is no good. this is an album i stumbled across a few years back and instantly clicked with me. they were part of the no wave scene in new york in the late 70s and this in my mind is their masterpiece. led by james chance on vocals and sax, this is a mixture of post punk, funk and jazz that clearly influenced the likes of the rapture and lcd soundsystem. musically challenging and interesting it manages to combine that perfectly with a sense of groove and funk to create something catchy yet a bit of a mindfuck at the same time. check it out, lets face it, even if you're not too fussed by it, it'll seem like a masterpiece compared to tucker's choice.
