You should at least give it a go. Of course, it's no Blue or Pinkerton, but I reckon it's up there with Green & Maladroit.
@karl: The new one was actually produced by Ric Ocasek who produced Blue & Pinkerton. I do think it's a little too polished in places and that some of the tracks will benefit from being played live.

Didn't say it was better than Green, but it falls in the same bracket. It ain't as good as Blue or Pinkerton, but it's better than Rad, Rattitude or Hurley.
Anyway, it doesn't matter because it's not as good as The Virginmarys' debut.

Same date, same predictions from me: JP: This has been an amazing year, but I've narrowed it down to to a top 90 Rod: I've been really busy, but I enjoyed that Ryan Adams/Gruff Rhys/some guy from the Bluetones record Stocky: I know it's March 15 now, but I've finally gotten round to doing my list haha you cunt, my list will be on time, on budget and 5 star quality as always! i downloaded my first album of 2014 today, mogwai's rave tapes, so thought we may as well start a thread for discussion of 2014 releases. who do we have due to be releasing albums this year then? ones i can think of off the top of my head that im excited to hear are... mogwai paws the horrors beck guided by voices jimi goodwin the rifles cloud nothings struggling to think of that many tbh. SUPERFOOD Been listening to the Superfood album a bit since Thursday, and gotta say, I quite like it. |

Vikesh Kapoor - The Ballad of Willy Robbins
All I know about it is he's a young American geezer that's travelled the country a bit and made a folky/protest album. At first I thought it was gonna be more Jake Bugg style nonsense, but the longer you listen you realise it's the real deal and has real depth. Tunes too.

Formerly known as The Black Ships, McCabe has reunited with Verve bassist Simon Jones, Davide Rossi (who’s worked with Goldfrapp and Coldplay in the past), the former drummer for Portishead Mig Schillace, and vocalist Amelia Tucker.
