I'm becoming a little bit obsessed with Car Seat Headrest/Will Teledo, LOVE the album from last year, although it was a 'best of' of sorts, his new album 'Teens of Denial' is released next month, first proper album for Matador and first recorded in a 'proper' studio. Three singles have been released from the album so far and they're all fantastic. Can't wait for the album, probably my most anticipated of the year so far. Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales is great.

Quite enjoying the new All Saints album! Shaznay knows how to write a pop song.

A terrific year so far. So many of my favourite artists releasing really good records.
Woods, Parquet Courts, Woodpigeon, PJ Harvey and now Andrew Bird. His new album is so good!

I know it's still early but DIIV is still my AOTY right now. Everytime 'Under The Sun' starts I just want to punch my cubicle walls down.

I'm not very knowledgeable regarding house or techno but I'm really enjoying the new Omar S record.
PJ's is getting better with each listen, I'm not sure what peoples problem with it is. It sounds pretty much like a continuation of Let England Shake. A few of the lyrics feel a bit on the nose for my liking, but the tunes are great.. those sax freakouts!

Hey Karl, if you like that you should check out the Shine EP by Jimmy Edgar. Was released last year and is banging.

I like it but the lyrics are a bit serious in tone vs the music. She tackles some pretty heavy stuff and set against the music that's being played, it sometimes feels like there can be a bit of a disconnect.

Maybe it'll go full circle and if i listen enough it'll grow. It just seems all so one paced and dreary.

Slow Grind by Beach Skulls is sounding quite lovely on first listen. Catchy garage-pop with some lovely melodies going on. Really like the production.
The singer sometimes sounds like deadringer for Alex Turner.

i'm really really liking the debut from the goon sax. they're an australian band who are still in their teens and one of them is the son of one of the go betweens. the sound reminds me a bit of the modern lovers with some daniel johnston thrown in. right up my street...
