After a couple of listens, it's alright, nothing to get too excited about (but the internet seems to have already proclaimed it the best thing ever, predictably).

I love that Goon Sax album; was playing it a lot a couple of weeks back.

Agree with others about the Goon Sax album. It's terrific.
Reckon it'll soundtrack my summer and make me wish I was 18 again.

A few others I've been digging this week:
Hurry - Guided Meditation - Might appeal to fans of GBV or Teenage Fanclub. It's indie-rock with a very lush sound. Psychedelic Porn Crumpets - Psych-rock flirting with prog. Seems to be quite a lot going on and I expect to enjoy it more with repeated listens.

Loving Cate Le Bon's new record. I'd heard bits & pieces of hers before & found it to be OK, but this new record is really doing it for me. Sort of Nico delivery, but with strange arrangements & some Beefheart style guitars on a few numbers.
Dug ANOHNI's (Antony and the johnsons) new one on first listen. Has even more obvious lyrics than PJ Harvey's new one (which I'm still loving), but well worth checking out.
I did enjoy King Gizzard's new one, but like all their records they never really grab me like they should, I think for me they are the type of band that has to be seen live, not sure they can translate that energy to their records.
Struggling to get into the new Melt Yourself Down LP, their debut was one of my favourites of the past few years. This is pretty much the same type of thing again, but the tunes just aren't grabbing me at the moment.

Have heard very good things about Anohni's record, but only two tracks on spotify and I really can't be arsed firing up the latop these days. Will wait patiently.
Will listen to the two tracks on the way home though.

After a good few listens I can confirm that both Cate Le Bon & especially the Anohni record are just wonderful.

mahoney being a fan of anohni is unexpected. Not really, I am a bird now is a great record, plus anyone who makes a song with an anthemic chorus that contains the lyrics PROTECTING ME FROM CHILD MOLESTERS is gonna get the thumbs up from me.

Tried Anonhi and while musically, it interested me, his voice just grates on Nevada bit. Will give it another few tries.
Heard a track off the new Cate Le Bon which sounded great so need to check the album out.
