Completely in love with the Car Seat Headrest album, can't stop playing it Ditto. It's just brilliant, end-to-end. My favourite lyrics on the album have to be: "What happened to that chubby little kid who smiled so much and loved the Beach Boys? What happened is I killed that fucker and I took his name and I got new glasses"

Those new Strokes tunes are decent but Julian sounds really weird in places, almost like he's taking the piss.

Based on his recent life I'm sure it will. But hoping it is, is a bit fucking morbid no?

Loving this stuff by a band called Lake Ruth. Being billed as a supergroup but the only involvement I've heard of is the drummer from Fucked Up. As the piece says it's cinematic 50s/60s pop noir and just bloody marvellous. therevue.ca/2016/05/31/lake-ruth-the-greenfield-industrialist/The three earlier tracks they have on Spotify are good too.

I like the Carseat Headrest album in places, and some of his lines are great, but I find it so incredibly self-indulgent. It's equal parts inspired and a sprawling mess. You're now going to tell me 'lol that's what makes it good'

It's like he doesn't really care about the final version of a song, he just throws whatever comes to his mind... That's why he needed less than a week to replace half a song from the record.

That's what makes it good! it definitely is. i love the un-preciousness of it, which seems like the opposite of self-indulgence. it's in my top 3 for this year so far i think.
