2016 albums

I was listening to it when I was making breakfast. Not doing it for me on the first listen. I'd like to say I wasn't proper awake, but the sound of the coffee beans grounding up did more for me. I'm going to stick it on in the car

He's released two hours of music this month and a magazine. Fans better enjoy it. After that output his next record will drop when he's Neil Young's age

Like a lot of the best music it only starts to really open up after a few listens and bit of patience.

That's true sometimes. But it seems certain people shits masterpieces even before they release them, praises are ensured no matter what they end up putting out.

it's about as far away from shit as possible, in my opinion. that doesn't mean i think it's amazing off the bat. still investigating that creamy middle ground barny, get a grip.

I have frank's 1st album on itunes and it shows I played it twice, but i have literally zero recollection of any of it.

I haven't heard a single person saying 'i like it' or 'i enjoy it', which doesn't make it shit, but there's a lotta try-hards going for it

Care to elaborate? 

Don't wanna talk that much about something i've barely heard, and i'm not the target anyway so what do i know. But i have the feeling that even many critics are approaching it like 'it's a mess but don't say it just in case we're missing something'. Then again, get a grip, etc.

I enjoy it, genuinely.

Not only is it 'impressive' (which I guess is partly what you were getting at Barny), i also think it's beautiful and affecting.

Have given the Ryley Walker album one listen through and enjoyed it very much. That first track is the best thing he's done.

On spotify the album has a 41 minute live version of Sullen Mind which is fantastic. Any idea if the physical release will have this?

there's a "deep cuts" edition version of the physical release that i believe has the long version as an extra.

Blond is a fucking beautiful, affecting, insular album, can't stop listening to it. Andre 3000's contribution on Solo (Reprise) is so good it makes me giggle. The production is overwhelmingly good and unshowy. Frank always deploys the right vocal at the right time from his amazing range. Love it.

I'm still struggling with Blond, you mentioned the Andre 3000 turn, I do not like that at all, I found it really jarring.

I still think it warrants returning too, but just not feeling it at the moment.

I love the Andre 3000 super-fast rap!
