Has anyone heard the 2 new Goat tracks? Any thoughts?

Any fans of The Walkmen? I fucking loved them and love Hamilton Leithauser's voice, possibly more than anyone else in rock music right now. Anyway, obvs he's written so many fantastic songs and this is the latest. All three tracks available on Spotify are decent, but this stands out. Can't wait for the album. The album is SO good.

The album is SO good. it's very good indeed. i could hear his voice over anything anyway. it does sound exactly like you would imagine the lead singer of the walkmen over tracks by the producer of vampire weekend, so it doesn't pull many surprises. but that's no big deal, because it's great.

I've listened to so much of The Walkmen and his solo stuff over the past few weeks. They were such a great band- always slipped a little under the radar.

It's my first time hearing anything from Danny Brown but I'll go back to his older stuff after this. he is one of the most original voices in the game and he's not afraid to go anywhere. i fucking love all his stuff but this newie may be his best yet. glad you like it tux!x

That Danny Brown album is atrocious lads, come on now. Golddust is the single worst song I've ever heard.

I'm really enjoying the Danny Brown record. His voice is slightly grating for my tastes though musically at times its sensational. Growing on me with each listen too.
Something I've been really loving is "Feelin kinda free" by The Drones. Australian act that have the nasty aggression of Grinderman era Nick Cave with the kind of nihilistic & venomous lyrical content from XTRMNTR, really interesting record.

New one from Solange Knowles is sounding pretty sweet.

New one from Solange Knowles is sounding pretty sweet. yeah i like it a lot, sounds like she's really found her own voice and it has plenty of beautifully subtle moments.

The production is absolutely ON POINT. Loving it.

agreed. it is almost impossible for these sort of albums to not have great production nowadays. only EDM and noelrock seem to get away scot free with unimaginative, non-production being the norm.

Who in blue hell are Drive By Truckers? Their new album seems to be getting a lot of love.

Very good alt-country band. They went to shit when Jason Isbell left though. Decoration Day is worth checking out if you like stuff like that. My Sweet Annette specifically is great.

Been relistening to Varmints, the debut LP from Anna Meredith, and starting to appreciate just how brilliant it is. Possibly the best debut of the year for me. It really does sound like nothing else.
