Cats aren't even animals. Useless, selfish little cunts. Vermin. Truth.

Dogs are such needy cunts. If you'd a decent pet, lets say for example a cat, you could just leave it with your mates and they'd need no looking after whatsoever. Yeah, but for the rest of the time it would bore the fuck out of me. And wouldn't for example lie on it's back in a pile of another dog's shit and roll around in it with it's rain wet fur while out on a walk in the forest and result in the back of my car stinking of shit. Like mine did it the weekend. I dunno why he didn't just eat it like he usually does, instead of rolling around in it. You don't get any of that cool shit with a cat. Our cat has been an indoor cat for 99.9% of his life (we believe he's either 11 or 12 years old at this point)...and yet. We have a sunroom in our house where he loves to lounge in the sun in summertime, and this summer, he managed to discover a way to push the screens out and get outside. And that's how we managed to get the mangled corpse of a bird right by the door to the backyard. You may think cats are boring, but lurking within is the heart of a stone-cold murderer. And no, eddie, we're not giving him the death penalty.

Give me your birds number, I'll have a chat with her and smooth things over. Take her for a nice Sunday Roast, have some flowers sent on the Saturday that'll arrive just after you leave. She'll be over the moon & you can raise a few glasses with me, Sam, Kev & Big Pete.
Maybe a nice pigs ear for the dog as well.

Shed seven 10/10
I remember a few years back Chrissie wrote a real try hard review slagging them off. He's wrong. What a wonderful live band.

Our cat Rebel is a killing machine. He loves nothing more than hunting a bird, catching it, and then spending an hour torturing it before leaving it to die a slow painful death. Give me that over some needy fucking dog any day of the week. When he's not killing things or sleeping he's licking his own bumhole, which is gross but then again my mum's dog eats his own shit.

Given half a chance my dog would hunt your cat down, spend half a day humiliating it in front of it's friends, spend the next two days torturing it and then...and only then kill it.

Arlo Parks last night at Rotondes in Luxembourg.
We bought these tickets as the other half wanted to go back in the spring, but the gig was postponed (twice I think) so it ended up being the last night of her tour and her last gig of the year.
The original gig was scheduled before she picked up the Mercury prize and got nominated for a couple of Grammys and the venue wasn't upgraded since, so it was perhaps the smallest venue she'll play for the next 20 years before she's big enough to do guerilla gigs as a global superstar.
Because she's surely destined to be a global superstar.
The music isn't normally what i'd pay to go and see but I don't mind a couple of her songs and i'm glad I did.
She has fantastic stage craft which has obviously been well honed over this tour, has a great voice, is charming and humble and has a super tight band around her.
The sell out crowd was in party mood, which for a Tuesday night in Lux is unusual, so that helped too.
She name checked Elliot Smith, Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake and Patti Smith as influences which is a bit of a leap for her pop/soul songs, but nice to hear nonetheless.
It was only 45 mins long, as I guess she only really has the album to play so that didn't hurt either.
All in all it was a fun gig and felt like you were right at the point of the emergence of a big star.
8/10

Callum Easter @ Summerhall
The venue is a former vet school complex in central Edinburgh. It’s been open a few years but this was my first time visiting for a gig. Annoyingly I used to live just round the corner. It’s the kind of place 2008 Columbia_rocks_man would have frequented. It’s very cool, lots going on, make a point of visiting if you’re up in Edinburgh soon.
Callum Easter is a one-man band - he writes the songs, arranges them, produces them, etc - but tonight he had a backing band which made a big difference in terms of his live show. His new album is a lot more immediate and definitely has more of a Young Fathers vibe - he’s toured with them lots and used to share a studio with them. I’m a longterm fan but this was very good. 7. It loses a point because the crowd was dull as fuck. Proper bland TCOTU affair.
