sorry jp I saw Eels a somerset house. Probably the worst crowd I've ever seen at a gig ever. Despite this Eels were great & the set was very similar to Glastonbury but an hour longer so loads more favourites thrown in. Quality gig 8.75 BDI @ Somerset house. Crowd wsan't great but miles better than it was for Eels. Heard wigwam for the first time otherwise same as the other BDI gigs = best band ever. 8.5 Field day. I saw loads of bands none that memorable tbh. Raveonettes was good but too short, nobody was into them either but I still enjoyed so 7 for them. And black Lips, I'd drank a shitload + a bottle of JD by the time they were on so perhaps it was shit but I loved every minute of it and it reminded me of why they excite me so much. Crowd which was shit all day went mental was people on the floor/in the air left right and center, good fun. 9/10 Tim Burgess was supposed to DJ before raveonettes but no sign of him. Ended up at one of the free after show parties they threw after at the old blue last. Was supposed to be hatham social playing and burgess djking. I did see a band but was so fucked I've no idea who it was but once again no tim burgess screwed! Black Lips new album still sounds better every time I hear it and will definitely be up there for album of the year. Ronson 4eva

edit, it wasn't field day was it. 1234 festival.
Can't be arsed with field day now I don't think. Too expensive and going Morrissey the next day so think I'd rather just save my powers for that.

Didn't bother with Deerhoof because they are SHIT. Watched the fat bloke with glasses from miles back, was quite good. Flaming Lips played for an hour 45 but it felt like an hour. Did the LP then do you realize at the end. Was good as always but I just wanted more. If Wayne had shut up a bit more they could of done a few more tracks. Also, was no where near sold out. They moved the big curtain in the hall forward to make it look like a sell out. they might of well of had it at brixton. Hate that fucking hill. So all in all, it was good but not the end of the world that you missed it though you should make the effort next time the lips come over. Weird that I've been to some of those gigs some of you've been too. I caught the whole Deerhoof/DinoJr/Flips thing. I really liked Deerhoof. Not many people in the crowd but they were quite entertaining and the drummer seems to be some kind of alien. 8/10Dinasour Jr was ok but I just can't get much into them. 6/10Flaming Lips was awesome because they played my fav album ever. So it was emotional. I did think the same thing as mahoney though. Wayne should have shut up a little bit and try to put a couple more songs in the set. Album + 1 song seemed too short, even though it was 1.40 hours. Every song sounded great. I would have preferred them doing Superman and Slow Motion in their original versions though. 9.5/10Also saw Arcade Fire at Hyde Park. The sound was not very good, specially at the beginning (Mumford & Sons had actually a better sound) but it was still pretty great and emotional for me to ruin it. Perfect setlist. Lots of old people in the crowd (I'm not used to that) which I kinda liked. This was my first outdoor gig not in Argentina. Really great experience. 9/10Pulp at Wireless was pretty much a perfect show. I thought the setlist was a bit short and they should really play more This is Hardcore stuff. Still one of the best gigs of my life. Crowd (at least were I was) was excellent. Really into it and cool. Jarvis might be some kind of stage god. 10/10

Forced to watch Arcade Fire. Outdoors. With terrible sound. Surrounded by boring wankers. AND YOU GAVE IT A 9?

tbh they werent as loud as i expected really. didnt really have any ringing ears problems or anything afterwards. i think its more because of the way the songs work that the loud parts only hit every now and then rather than being consistently loud.

Stig Noise Foot Village 100% Fuck Off Monobrow Joe From Kling Klangs solo thing I forget what its called Bitches
Wolstenholme Creative Space, 8/10. stig noise used to be the worst band on earth, but have trimmed the excess and are decet now. Foot Village are simply 4 drummers who shout whilst drumming, its utterly joyful. 100% Fuck Off are a friends band, who were berated and attacked all the way through there show (they are a grindcore band) Monobrow are a liverpool supergroup made up of obscure bands. 4 drummers again. lots of noise the drummer in bitches is fit and has lovely tits.

Benicassim review, late but the world needs to know.
Got there Thursday evening after work, put the tents and went to see Anna Calvi. She has a presence, and a great one I must say. The show worked well as a warm up to the festival, played the strongest tracks on the album plus some covers. Maybe she still lacks something to pull on a full headline show, but I was quite pleased and she seemed too. Thursday was a quite bizarre day tbh, swapping genres at higher speed than Orch's metabolism. We went to see Congotronics vs Rockers as a curio, but the truth is I enjoyed it a fuckin' lot, the music was cool and geniunely interesting, the Congolese performers were brilliant and funny and it become the feel good show of the weekend. The only drawback was the length, two hours was just too much, so 8/10. Had a quick glance at The Streets, but it's not my cup of tea so I left. It was the time for Mendieta (yeah, him), who made a DJ set under the name of Gasteiz Gang with a local shop assistant. There were lots of people there with Valencia shirts and blonde wigs just waiting to see the bland man in action. Surprisingly enough, they made a decent set, heavy on 60s and 70s classics.
That night I had a remarkable bad experience with a train passing close to the tent, I thought the sky was falling over me. Survived and Friday was a long day, came some more friends and did not so much. My first stop were The Undertones. Don't know how the original frontman was, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't like that. And don't know if it was fair and where they found him, but it worked. A showman with all the letters, good voice not dissimilar, exaggeratedly mannered, he didn't stop for a while. Great shoulder movements, I should add. The rest of the band were tight as fuck too, specially the two guitar rats, I loved them. Played the debut then some other hits, more than 20 songs in less than an hour, underrated band I reckon. 8.5/10. Then I decided to sacrifice some shows I couldn't have fully seen in order to get a good place for The Strokes. So I saw Elbow and although they're nice and Guy is a nice lad, can't see what the fuss is about. At least not as headliners of a festival and just before the main event. I mean, he asked four times to step back as he was worried about the people on the front, the soft fat cunt. But their music work and some songs did save it to an 6/10. The Strokes came and it was madness, we were quite close and it was not too wild but incredibly packed. Rhinocerosic stewards found their way to save some people through it. Inside the eye of the tornado I can't really judge, but they were there and played the hits and had a great time. Vini, vidi, vinci. Glad to see them again, 9/10.
Saturday had some beach and headed to the festival, catched the end of a Spanish band called McEnroe who made me raise some questions. Terrible. Went to Tame Impala, when I first heard them I thought they were really dull but have grown on me after that. They have achieved the sound they were looking for and brought it well to their live show too. Maybe they need a standout track but they can have a bright future. 7/10. Stayed there for Mumford & Sons, who I really hated with no reason. I'd like to say now I got a reason, but they were quite harmless. The tavern songs were no bad but the full show was quite boring, 5/10. Saw the very start of Beirut and gutted I missed it but it was time for the Arctic Monkeys. I fell in love with them, out of love with them and now with Suck it and See finally back in love with them, second time seeing them and quite anticipated. They have an undeniably powerful show, rock solid performers and if only they had played less tracks of FWN... Alex was quite drunk and made too much of those "suposedly cool stops in the middle of the songs to make the crowd go nuts", just too much of them. But yeah, fuckin' great concert, 9/10. We were quite tired after it so left Primal Scream after three or four songs. No need for more after Movin' On Up, which is my favourite Screamadelica song anyway.
It was Sunday and we already could feel the death of our extremities coming. Saw Veronica Falls, 7/10, decent but didn't blow my mind. Had some of the best belly pork I've ever tried and saw a bit of an indescribable Spanish "band". Pseudo electronic beats along with lyrics about Aquaboy, making pairs (horses and ponies, cuttlefishes and squids...) and some other things I can't remember. They were probably laughing at us and shouldn't exist but had something strangely addictive. Bit of Portishead, meh. Went to The Go! Team, a kind of their own and the most energetic people on Earth. They fulfilled it but I was way too tired so I couldn't fully enjoy it, 8/10. And finally, thee Arcade Fire. I was completely devastated and they're not exactly my favourite band, but they nailed it. They're a must see, you know, they have it all: the songs, the screens, shit hairdos, 20 people on stage playing instruments like trying to revive their little brothers... Winners of their own league. 9/10.
Fuck, what a testament...
