Didn't bother with Deerhoof because they are SHIT.
Watched the fat bloke with glasses from miles back, was quite good.
Flaming Lips played for an hour 45 but it felt like an hour. Did the LP then do you realize at the end. Was good as always but I just wanted more. If Wayne had shut up a bit more they could of done a few more tracks.
Also, was no where near sold out. They moved the big curtain in the hall forward to make it look like a sell out. they might of well of had it at brixton. Hate that fucking hill.
So all in all, it was good but not the end of the world that you missed it though you should make the effort next time the lips come over.
hopefully latitude next year as I'm bound to end up there. Not doing 1234 festival?

nah black lips and raveonettes would be good but the rest of 1234 is a bit pony aint it. decided its not worth the travel.
hopefully will still do field day tho not bought a ticket yet. also will try and get to one of the pulp gigs at brixton providing they dont sell out instantly which i doubt tbh.

Long as you get pulp when they go on sale you'll be fine. I was gonna go but abs recommended seeing them (plus I'm away then anyway) but it's ok. OCS at ben and jerrys will definitely be better.
yeah these bands at 1234 are seemingly made up, none of them hardly have a video on youtube. I hope theres nobody there and my pal mark ronson comes out and plays some keyboards so I can throw my underwear at his jewish face.
Field day - the longer I don't get a ticket the more I think I just won't bother. Might, might not. Cans for 4 quid a pop, with the ticket it'll end up a 100 pound day when all I'll really be arsed about is gruff and horrors. Though the mrs is away then so I'll have fuck all else to do. I'm undecided on field day.
this 1234 I reckon will have lack of security so at least I'll be able to get the remains of the Glastonbury spirits in & not get conned for drinks all day.

1234 last year had a much better line up from what i remember. bobby g was playing in a covers band with some of the sex pistols, peter hook did unknown pleasures which was probably shit but at least you know who he is, plus vivian girls, scum, dum dum girls, the tamborines, wavves, veronica falls and these new puritans who are all pretty good, though probably more up my street than yours but at least theyre well known.
sure raveonettes and black lips will be good this year though. you checked they dont clash? would be a fucker if they were both headlining different stages.

haha yeah I booked the tickets then thought shit they best not be on same time. I've no idea. I'll be going black lips if they do clash. Raveonettes are usually disappointing live when I see them. Always good but thats usually it.
Scum are the bollocks really loved them at camden crawl. I wanna go see them again and finger peaches little minge while they play.
I wish you could of seen the dread & anger in me and kevins face when wesaw these new puritans a year or two back. We was not impressed.

Pulp/Grace Jones/TV on the Radio/The Hives/The Horrors at Hyde Park Stupid fucking queuing system at Hyde Park meant I was waiting for half an hour to get in. Luckily as I was coming in Horrors were just starting Sea Within a Sea (which they opened with unusually). As I was walking in I'd imagine they wouldve sounded shit to anyone behind the soundstage, but from up close they smashed it. New stuff sounded really good too. 8/10 Somehow I'd never managed to see The Hives before, but it's easy to see why they can still make a very tidy living out of their live show. Tons of energy, great fun, not the sort of show I'd see again and again but still very good. 7.5/10 TV on the Radio were some way off their performance at Glasto last weekend. Probably fewer people in the crowd were up for them too. Wolf Like Me as a good closer though. 6/10. Grace Jones was a funny one - stuck out like a sore thumb on the bill and I wouldnt have usually paid to see her. Suspect her presence on the bill was something to do with it being Gay Pride the same weekend. Anyway she did put on a good show and definitely won the crowd over. 7.5/10 Pulp. Brilliant again. Not quite as special as the Glastonbury set but then I've decided thats the 3rd best gig I've ever seen. This was still superb though. Only 15 songs and very Different Class heavy but really changed up their setlist from eight days ago, played stuff like I Spy, Mile End, Underwear, Pink Glove and Bar Italia which I hadnt heard the previous weekend. Do You Remember the First Time is one of the best gig openings I can think of, and there was tons of pyrotechnics as well to give the set that extra sense of occasion. Met a German girl called Stella and went with her and a few others to Bar Italia after the gig, they werent serving alcohol so went looking for ages for a place thatd serve booze....finally settled on a casino where we had to register , still was worth it mind. 9/10

OFWGKTA @ Camden Ballroom, last neet. Really disappointing. Horrendous sound, Tyler's fucked ankle put a kibosh on the energy levels and not finishing a bunch of songs (or doing a tune as great as Seven as acappela ) was incredibly frustrating. First time I've seen them, it wont be the last as enough reviews have proved they are great, but this was a real let-down. 5/10

yeah it was shit last night The sound was fucking pony. Was bad the other times I saw them but that was really poor. Probably didn't help we were so far back but still it felt really uneventful. For a band that when I saw them before you thought anything could happen it just felt a bit predictable and stale yesterday. Also, lets face it I think truthfully everyone there was there for the Tyler show & with him being restricted so badly it just ended up being a real let down. That's the second time I've seen what I considered the MOST EXCITING ACT ON EARTH at the Ballroom & been completely disappointed. Was the black lips previously. Hope Shit Horse never play there!

Sorry to hear that lads. Hip-hop acts can be iffy live if they don't have a good DJ and the energy levels are running low.

The Black Keys tonight at ottawa bluesfest. Show delayed by an hour due to a biblical rainstorm, they came on at 10:30, blew past the 11pm sound curfew, kept going until 11:30...everyone soaked to the bone, no one left. Monstrous show. Oh, and the PA system blew out during the last 30 seconds of 'tighten up'...what a night.

Fucking knackered after TITP so cant be arsed to do a big review. Seen loads of bands though compared to what i usually would, easily 15-16. Fucking loved it, seen nearly everyone I wanted to see and watched some filler and a few things others wanted to see. Off the top of my head I seen Friday - Big Country, The View, Tom Jones, Plan B and Arctic Monkeys. Arctic Monkeys were fucking excellent, much better than when I seen them in 2009. Saturday - The Streets, Ocean Colour Scene, The Strokes, 4 Coldplay songs, then Primal Scream. Had a great day topped off with another great Screamadelica gig. Was great to see The Strokes live for the first time, Julian seemed off his head Sunday - Cast, The Vaccines, Weezer, Pulp, Beady Eye, Calvin Harris. This was the best day for me like, once again Pulp stole the show despite the crowd being shit. Jarvis once again hilarious even wiping his arse with the final edition of the NOTW. Must catch them again. Cast was a good start to the day and they played longer than the scheduled half hour slow they had as well, they done the TBA slot and their own. The stage times changed for the day so I couldnt believe my luck when I caught the whole of the Beady Eye set when i left Pulp during the last song. Was only gonna catch a few BDI songs with the original times, I got a massive man crush when I walked towards the NME and realised Liam was singing the middle of FLW. They were outstanding as well, one of the best ones ive seen so far. Liam went down to the crowd at the end and someone stole his hat Brilliant though and the crowd were well into it. Was off my head for Calvin Harris, was fucking quality in there for him though even though im not into him, had a great jump about Couldnt believe how clean the toilets were, seen them get cleaned loads. Will definitely be going back everything was quality with no bother whatsoever. Only complaint is the walk from the carpark to campsite, I was crippled. You Scottish bastards are monsters drinking cans at 7am this morning while packing away tents.

Had the chance to buy a Sunday day ticket for T but turned it down cos I'm skint. Bit gutted now, it looked fucking brilliant from the coverage I saw.
Agree with what you said about the Monkeys Alan, they looked like they were on top form. Enjoyed the Strokes set as well.

Aye, Sunday was brilliant. On a massive high after that, usually i'll go to a festival and watch a few bands I like and see a a few great sets, but that was like gig after gig on the Saturday and Sunday, it will take a hell of a lot to match that as far as gigs go. Gutted Pulp havent allowed them to show it on tv again, they havent allowed any footage of their gigs to be shown since they've come back. Dont know if they are just trying to make it extra special for the people who are there or they are gonna release a dvd. Seems like Beady Eye were made up with the reaction they got. Wish I had bought tickets for Arctic Monkeys up here now.

Went and saw The Black Angels again last night. They were great or wanted to be, but the sound was terrible. Couldnt make out the vocals or the guitar. Love the venue cuz its so close to my place, but Im going to be really wary next gig I go there.
9/10 effort 6/10 result, purely based on technical problems
Off to see them again this afternoon, its a free thing and outdoors, so its gonna be packed, but this is more to see friends, smoke weed in a park and enjoy the summer.
On a side note, the two opening acts last night (The Black Hollies and The Sadies) were both great was really impressed with both. Really good musicians on both.

Saw the end of Titus Andronicus (horrible) and the Angels again yesterday. Much better than Friday due to the sound being great and having a prime spot next to the stage. Great setlist too. They mix it up every show and out of the four times this year, they've played at least one song I didnt hear at any of the other shows. 9/10 Going to see them AGAIN on Monday at Mercury Lounge very late gig tho (12:30 start) but they're playing new stuff and its at my fave venue, so wth.
