What? Are you parking in Oprah's spot or something? Thats absurd. What I fucking hate more than anything at gigs: COAT CHECKS - FUCK OFF. Fucking pain in the ass.

Fucking pain in the ass. welcome to chicago i basically work every saturday from february to april and have to pay $32 to park next to my building. luckily in that case my boss reimburses me so i don't care but it's ridiculous. the parking garages next to most theatres is $20-$30 usually as well. you can park for like $10-$15 in lots that stack the cars up if you want to give up your keys and let someone park it, but i refuse to give my car or keys to someone so i have to pay to park it myself.

Thats disgusting, reminds me of NYC though. To just drive into NYC from New Jersey via the Lincoln Tunnel is $8. They only charge so much to get less people to drive. However, its completely free to drive from NYC into New Jersey. In comparison, where I am now before goin back (Richmond), I can go downtown to the main music venue, park right next to the place in a high rise garage for $5. Thing is, its Richmond, and while not a horrible place, is not exactly happening.

Lookin forward to it. Saw Crayon Fields tonight. Really small place, but damn are they fucking dorks decent band though. Didnt blow me away and they looked a little tired, but I can check em off the list. 6.9/10 Not a 7, but not a 6.

Charlatans at brixton Shaun Ryder supported, was really good did the 4/5 big mondays hits, 3 black grape and a couple of new ones which sounded promising. Took his top off and just had this red vest on which was fucking grim, someone on charlatans board reckons he had the same one on night before as well Charlatans, fuck me I forgot how much I love them. New albums pretty shit & I rarely listen to them now but they played an absolute binder. Burgess still manages to look younger everytime i see them, bloke form Verve on the drums did well, few of the little drum bits in songs not perfect but he was solid. Setlist was the bollocks, opening 3 tracks were amazing, also another rider & patrol were huge. Only a few off the new album as well which was nice 9 all stolen off charlatans board

Glad you rated it. I was much the same as you, couldn't be arsed before the gig but then they came out, opened with Then and did 4 tracks off Up to Our Hips so I was a happy boy. Did a couple more songs (sadly new ones and Bird) up here than at Brixton. New album is beginning to grow on me a little, I think I like 3 songs now.

Metric tonight 8/10
This was another last seconder, but so glad I went. Man, Im going to miss this fucking venue. Saw two of my absolute favorites (The National and Camera Obscura) and a few other really good gigs.
But yea, Metric were great. Im not super-familiar with their material, but I went with a friend who loves em so her enthusiasm brushed off. They played a mini-acoustic set halfway through and it was grand. Missed the opener, dunno if there was even one. For a Monday gig, there was a decent crowd too. It was actually perfect.

Metric are fantastic live especially since the newest album Fantasies dropped.. I think I've seen them 4 times now and my fav times have been on the last tour. If you have all the albums you should also get Metric - Plug in Plug out 5 track acoustic EP from songs from their latest record. ;D

I would love to have sex with her.. the only thing I don't like about her is that sometimes she'll go on about nonsense in between songs and by nonsense I meant telling us to love one another and all that other hippie shit.
I'm looking forward to a new album soon.. Although I can see it being a while.
And finally seeing as you have a week off and want to learn abit more about the band and the last album and the struggles with it.. you can watch this cool documentary done by the IFC channel it's from the rawside series.
