Nope, only thing we can do is cancel this season and go again in September. already going to be an asterisk season anyway so may as well win it properly next year if you want it to mean anything.

The level of hate towards lfc is shocking bet most of you dont even know any lfc fans!!....but anyway....yeah I called this completely wrong but before anyone gets too cocky we'll deal with the banter but joking aside the effects of this are going to be seismic through football (through everything but this is a football thread). Theres no way this season will be finished and reastically hows next season going to shape up? Surely not an august start? Reduced gamess? No European football? Who knows . But obviously you've got an issue then with the tv money etc...itll drop out. Will the various owners be interested without the TV money? The players arent going to take a pay cut....absolute can of worms the whole things going to be.

I personally think If it is so bad- which it is - that we cant play the season out, then I cant see the point in starting another till a vaccine is available. Everyone will be on pins each weekend waiting on squads to be given corona all clears, then as soon as someone tests positive the whole thing will be up in the air again. Theres even a possibility that clubs having a bad season could use corona as a "quit game without save?" option. Sounds crazy but it took Karen Brady a weekend before spotting an opportunity. Easily could say a players tested positive and now everyones is isolation.

As an aside, no I dont want the league to be "given" to lfc. If its null and void then so be it.

It's only a guideline, but realistically I cant see the point in scheduling any footy. You seem more clued up than me. But my theory is, what's the point in starting a new season when at any point it could be at the mercy of corona. Theres a will from everyone to get it played as the financial implications will be huge for everyone if the epl cant provide the service it sells to the tv companies but even behind closed doors, theres not going to manage 9 game days of football without someone testing positive? Unless I'm mistake is it still only arteta and Hudson odoi who've tested positive? But everyone else has been sat in, once they come out more will get infected and back to square one? That's how I see it?

people (kopites tbh) are fixated on the idea that they have to finish the league or everyone will sue everyone but that to me seems madness are sky going to sue the premier league when a good relationship between the two is the main force selling sky subscriptions? of course not, they'll take the hit. are (name a club facing relegation) going to sue the league that they own 5% of?

I dont know too much about it tbh, just seems a bit of logic that if the football cant provide a service , then the broadcasters will look to renovate any deals. But whatever. Would you agree though there is no point starting any new seasons till this thing is properly under control / vaccinated? Seems to me a lot of people are thinking come august spurs are gonna be back in ucl action and oles gonna be at the wheel with pogba and Fernandez etc and it seems a bit fanciful.

Well that's it...just seems to me if Its impossible to play 10 games between now an august without chaos (and I think it is) then setting up a new season (a normal august to may season) is very optimistic

Why are people worried about the season?

A new season won't start till this one is finished.

Fact.

No way can this season be completed. Players wont have played for at least two months so will need a pre season to get fitness back. Only option is to write it off and start again.
