No way can this season be completed. Players wont have played for at least two months so will need a pre season to get fitness back. Only option is to write it off and start again. So why cant they have a pre season? Nobody knows when (or if we're honest even 'if' it will start, even after today I'm not expecting to see hendo with the trophy any time soon) but let's say we're good to go in november 2021 - just throwing a date out there- why cant pre season start then and the last 10 games be played from december? Then you sort out the following season. It's the same with the contracts situation, apparently anyone out of contract is finished on june 30th but what is the issue. Just carry on as normal i.e leave or renew? Or if theres some players with a conflict of interest say lallana.. he might want to be a champion with liverpool but then sign on a free somewhere, then why couldnt he take a short term contract? As I say I'm not expecting footy back any time soon but I just these arguments for cancelling online but they dont seem to have any sense. But maybe I'm missing something.

FA, PL, EFL have just confirmed the season will and can be extended indefinitely beyond any deadlines, cancelling is not an option.
Nothing to see here, move on, and stfu. (not you dan)

Don't worry about it. The season isn't getting cancelled, and you will remain a non-entity in 8th place. Once again, please don't worry. No way are we finishing 8th with Son, Kane and most importantly Sissoko back from injury. This is all a Daniel Levy masterclass to get over our injury crisis. It seemed a bit weird last year when we sold Dembele to China but it all makes sense now. Notice how the Arsenal manager has corona and at least 1 Chelsea player yet Spurs are still in training. The world just got Levy'ed.

2 things though....hopefully nothing is arranged until all of world football is good to go again AND we can have supporters in the stadiums. What a 2 months it could be, the business end of the season, all the big games and finals. Football -although it seems trivial right now - unites and it would be a huge celebration for everyone of getting back to some sort of normality if/when it happens.

Why are people worried about the season? A new season won't start till this one is finished. Fact. Cos everyone in July will be keen to renew their sky subscription to see a foregone conclusion won’t they? And lower league clubs with huge numbers of contracts ending on June 30th will be keen too.

I don't think people quite realise how fucked football clubs are. there's no rich football clubs now. teams like spurs dependent on european money are going to be hit with the fact that there cannot be european football next season, clubs like city chelsea and to a much lesser extent everton will be ok but clubs that exist to generate money for owners are in real trouble cos they'll be losing fuckloads.

www.thefa.com/news/2020/apr/07/greg-clarke-speech-to-fa-council-070420Greg Clarke FA Chairman saying it might not be possible to finish the season ‘Returning to the issue of uncertainty, no one knows how long the lock down will last and what social distancing measures will endure even when the daily rate of infection is much reduced. Our Government is rightly cautious as human life is at stake and prudence is our only sensible option. We are committed to finishing the professional football season as this resolves the issues of promotion and relegation together with title winners on merit. However, we may not be able to finish the season as football is not our priority, human life is, and we will do as the Government directs as the pandemic unfolds.’

Can anyone explain to me what's going on in Scotland? Searching through Twitter is just a minefield of Celtic and rangers fans chatting.
This is what I can make of it;
They've put it to the vote to end it
Celtic want to complete or end it and have their position honoured
Rangers want it ended and want the prize money for finishing in their current position but dont want the league table as it stands honoured (But their claiming the prize money for their position)

Rangers just agitated because they know the 10 in a row is within reach if Celtic gets it this year.

I know I'm obviously biased but I can't see the rush to make the decisions in that it's clear there's not going be any football for ages....so ok France and Holland and Belgium are "sorted" but their still in the same boat they were before.....I.e no closer to starting. (Btw I don't think the games will get played)

Whether it comes back or not i dont know, don't think it should tbh...but standard Chartered (lfcs sponser) last week put a countdown to lfcs next game as being the 16th June away at everton 9pm kick off. Immediately took it down and said it was a technical error. The next game scheduled pre lockdown was efc away. Seems a funny kick off time........unless there's a plan to show all the games live over a weekend
