I think he meant because Pains are so shit.
Oslo is pretty good, wanky restaurant/bar downstairs but the venue upstairs is pretty decent.

You people are so rude with each other's tastes, we are just a few left over here and should treat people more respectfulPAUL WELLER IS A BORING OLD MAN AND HIP HOP IS NOT EVEN MUSIC

it's easily his worst lp for me.
just listened to the new gorillaz album in full for the first time and that's their worst album too. in fact it's been a pretty shit days listening for me, listened to new afghan whigs which was also underwhelming and the new mountain goats which is nowhere near as good as their early work.
none of the above are awful but when all those acts have released really very good albums in the past, i'm finding all of these new ones a drop in quality.

Had a bit of a weird week with no time to listen to anything, but I'm diving into weller's new one now, and am really digging it. It's like a combination of the early (good) solo albums with the sound of the new ones.

I think it will be absolutely forgetable/forgotten in two years, just like every Weller record of the last 30 years

Been really enjoying Cyanide Pills - Sliced & DicedFor those who haven't hear them, I'd say it's punk in the same vein as The Exploding Hearts.

Been really enjoying Cyanide Pills - Sliced & DicedFor those who haven't hear them, I'd say it's punk in the same vein as The Exploding Hearts. I'll try that. I've recently discovered the work by Protex, which is a golden lost Buzzcocks/Undertones kind of band too. They've also released something this year again but it's their old semiunreleased record called Strange Obssessions that makes it for me.

I've only given it one spin but the new Charlatans album seems patchy at best. Properly winced when I got to Ian Rankin's spoken word cameo.

Really liked that dj format and abdominal record, King Magnetic I had a skim through on youtube & I wasn't keen though I'll give it a go.
Love the new King Gizzard (Murder of the Universe), for me it's by far their best yet. It's a bit like when Super Street Fighter II came out, exactly the same formula yet everything knocked up a notch. I accused them of being one trick pony's last year though I think they've finally nailed their sound.
