It's shaping up to be the best second half of the year ever for me. Fleet Foxes, Grizzly Bear and The National.

Quite liking the Girlpool album. Hadn't heard them before but it's pretty nice.

The boss of Primavera Sound festival said the new Arcade Fire should be released before their show, and that's in a couple weeks...

Do the National still sound like Coldplay trying & failing miserably to cover Nick Cave? Can't wait to hear the new Wellah!

It's shaping up to be the best second half of the year ever for me. Fleet Foxes, Grizzly Bear and The National. i really dig your taste, so this is in now way a slight. but those 3 bands are the 3 who fit the extremely specific criteria of 'i really feel like i should like more, and i do enjoy it when i put a song of theirs on, but any more than that and i am done' not seen fleet foxes or grizzly bear live, but the crowd at national really do piss me off too

All four of them can sing superbly- the four part harmonies are breathtaking sometimes and all are great musicians. They're not going to get you jumping up and down in a mosh pit and aren't going to play guitars on their heads and do knee slides on stage, but if you like their music, they are properly amazing live. I've seen Fleet Foxes three times. The first at the Roundhouse was stunning, the second on the main stage at Glastonbury was awful (mainly due to going on straight after N.E.R.D who had whipped the crowd up into a frenzy and refused to leave the stage) and third at Primavera which was good. I'd pay good money to see them inside again or on a small festival stage.

Now we're seven years into the next decade, can we all agree The National are so fucking dated and just a bit embarrassing? Much like Arcade Fire TBH. Happy hardcore >>>>> North American bearded bands doing emotion.
Now The Horrors, there's a band 😎.

I won't pay too much attention to your rantings bruv. You said something about Gorillaz being for people afraid of hip hop. Vince staples and Danny brown feature on the album.

What's your point, caller? That Vince Staples and Danny Brown are about as up-to-date as decent hip hop gets. And Damon Albarn has employed them to work on his most recent album, so would suggest that people that like decent hip hop can also like Albarn and Gorillaz. Me for example.

Hey man, I bought the Clint Eastwood single when it came out. I have Gorillaz previous. I'm glad you're sticking by your man. This forum needs more energy in its threads.

i know no-one other than me and bigredsteve cares anymore but pains of being pure at heart just announced a new album for july and i quite like the track they've revealed from it. sounds a bit more guitar based than recent work anyway so hopefully that bodes well for the album.

Yeah baby!! I like the song also. Sounds much more guitar driven. Fuck Peggy Wang and Connor.
