2018 albums

Enjoying the new BRMC quite a bit.

Their last album sounded like they were just going through the motions while having a bit of an identity crisis. They sound a lot more focused and reinvigorated on this new one, and there's some new ideas on show, at least in the context of what we're used to from BRMC.

new josh t pearson album confirmed for april.

I heard 20 seconds of the single, sounds nothing like what I was expecting, didn't sound good either but I'll reserve judgement. Though he looks like a real cunt in the press photos.


New Eels in April

Yeah that last BRMC record was completely underwhelming. The new one on first listen sounded a step up, though I'm kind of burnt out on this kind of music now. I think I overdid it in about 07-09 with all those bands that sound like the middle ground between the Velvet Underground & Oasis & find it hard to get excited about them anymore.

Quite the same, better than the previous one but I don't know if that's enough for me anymore. Seeing them live helps to make the songs grow though and unfortunately havent caught them in ages.

link i found was zippyshare which i didnt even realise was still going. dont think i've used it in about 10 years - was well quick compared to some of these shitty turtle sites the blogs use nowadays.

Cool thanks. Only heard it once and thought it was ok, but unlike BRMC their previous one was a pop marvel and this seems more by numbers. Another band I'd love to catch live, although my last experience was a bit deceiving.

Getting a bit excited with Eels, the preview is nice. On the other hand, not expecting much from the likes of Public Acces TV, Hinds, Preoccupations and of Montreal...

Eels could put out 55 minutes of Knuckles and P-Boo farting dischordantly and I'd still be happy provided they toured.

Yeah, really enjoying this. Wasn't that blown away by the stuff they'd released before, especially as the hype machine was in full flow, but the record really works better.

I did like all of the singles released in the lead up, but that length puts me off a bit (oo-er!)

New Eels album 'The Deconstruction' confirmed for April..



Quite like that, not been arsed with an Eels album really since probably End Times, but this sounds a little more concentrated. It doesn't really go anywhere spectacular, but I like the feel and the sound of it. Understand they worked with Mickey Petralia on a few songs who they haven't worked with since Electro-Shock Blues, which could be interesting.

Fucking hell that's long. After bringing out my inner rage at his self indulgent piece of shit gig last year he better not anger me furthermore.

The Ty record is absolutely banging, it's 3 minutes longer than Be Here Now, but packed full of tunes.
