Put me a 5/10, probably my least liked Oasis song in their first 4 years.
Which is a pretty amazing run considering I still find it decent.

She Is Love
The worst single from the band, though it doesn't really count as there was no video for this track of the "double a-side". Noel in cheery mode, when promoting the album he was quite impressed that the chords "go round and round" whatever that means. Confession: this was played at my wedding. 4/10

3/10. fun fact, Noel never used the word love (an least in an officially released oasis song) until 4 albums in with "who feels love". pretty amazing considering it's the most common theme for lyrics....the opening 2 words of the Beatles recorded career are both 'love'

Anybody who doesn't rate Shakermaker has no soul.
She is Love is the least bad of the Dwayne-sung songs on Heathen Chemistry. It's pretty mawkish and should never have been a single, but I don't hate it as much as some folk.

She's Electric
The Digsy's Dinner/Diner of WTSMG, but a far superior song. It's very "britpop" on an album mostly lacking a sense of fun. Bounces along nicely, cute Beatles-aping at the very end - 7/10

Shout It Out Loud
HC era b-side, Noel sung - a bit Pink Floyd. Sounds like the end credits of a film. I've always liked this one, it's certainly stronger than most of the HC album tracks. Love the solo, which makes up for some of the lazy couplets - "d'you think it's all a dream - 'cos that's what it seems". Indeed, Noel. Indeed.
8/10

Sittin' Here in Silence (On My Own)
Ripping off Karma Police which is ripping off Sexy Sadie, this is a throwaway b-side led by Noel. Some interesting sounds throughout but very slight lyrically - 5/10

Good single that one, wasn't it? I'm no huge fan of SCYHO, but yeah. "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" "Thank You for the Good Times" (Andy Bell) "Shout It Out Loud" Solid stuff. siol good song that, solo reminds me more of Neil young. probably never listen to it again 7 Guess I can hear that - I'm probably only a little more familiar with Pink Floyd than Neil Young, but still not very familiar with either.

Slide Away
What's to say? Even with the lazy lyrics (repetition again), it's still a stellar track in just about every sense. The straightforward lyrics. Atmospheric music. Passionate vocals from Liam (that "Oh" before "Let me be the one" near the end), and a glorious outro with the "Don't know, don't care - all I know is you can take me there".
The repetitive lyrics are redeemed somewhat by the slight change the second time around. Initially, he says "I've tried praying but I don't know what you're saying to me". This is immediately followed by "Now that you're mine" (and the music at this point is gorgeous!) - the turning point in the song; next time he gets to the praying line he DOES know what she's saying to him - "I know just what you're saying to me".
10/10 of course.

Some interesting sounds throughout but very slight lyrically - 5/10 one of these 'modern' Noel b sides which I've never made it through once and won't bother listening to again (see 'alone on a rope' 'id have you anytime' etc). desperately dull, 3

How can you all like the snoozefest of Shout It Out Loud yet diss the half-different Cigarettes In Hell and One Way Road, for example. Crazy days.

Soldier On
The last track on the last Oasis album - a fitting title. Liam penned effort, it's way longer than it needs to be, a low tempo sludger with a massive echo effect on the vocal, there's mention of a song, a classic rock reference (Shine a light), and seemingly endless repetition of the title. "Who's to say that you were right, and I was wrong - soldier on". 6/10
