It won't be coming home. Croatia's midfield is far too good for England. This comment is such nonsense. Of course, Croatia have a cracking midfield, we know that. I just don't understand how you can proclaim they will "far too good" for England when Croatia couldn't beat Denmark or Russia in 120 minutes and had to go to penalties. I think we have a superb chance of turning Croatia over and reaching the final. Croatia will be tireder than we are for sure seeing as Russia took them to extra-time and penalties. And Croatia will attack far more than Colombia or Sweden did which should open up a lot of space for us to attack ourselves. It'll be a close one but I think we can do it.

yeah there is no point listening to Rolli, he is just an empty regurgitator and doesn't understand the slightest thing about football

Ambulance smashed up. IKEA smashed up. Bus stop smashed up. Taxi smashed up and that's just whats been caught on camera and published on social media. That's the celebrations, imagine what'll happen when they lose and all the hooligans that didn't have the nuts to go to Russia smash up their own towns and cities.
Anyway I like Southgate and I like that the team all seem pretty down to earth, thats not enough for me to want them to win though.

Denmark took them to extra time as well, to me they looked absolutely dead on their feet against Russia. Quite honestly, just keep it toght for an hour, look to take advantage at set pieces then send on Rashford and Vardy and send long diagonals to them and Sterling to exploit their tiredness.

It will be Henderson starting though and we all know Southgate won't change his team, which pisses me off, as Sterling deserves to be dropped. There won't be many chances in the next 2 games and he can't bag shit. Anyway it's clearly gonna be a France/England final which I called after I earlier said we'd face Colombia in a shootout, wink. Did say we'd lose that though I do want them (us) to win it but I still feel apathy towards the national team even at this stage, I mean my goal celebrations so far have been rather forced. Cannae be helped. That phrase is almost as annoying as Brexit and Windrush Generation now too. Vindaloo was always a more timeless tune anyway tbh. Your apathy tends to feel kind of forced tbh.

Slippy's angry I won't be that arsed if they (we) go out On a scale of 10, I'm a 6. Would like them to win it but at least the white van man won't be draping the flag for a decade if it doesn't happen. Come on bhoys boys!

England has overachieved, and your defense is extremely weak which will result in Mario getting at least one headed goal. Enjoy the 3rd place game.

I think more people should speak up about not feeling very patriotic. The oppression of the soapbox is a bit worrying in 2018.

I think more people should speak up about not feeling very patriotic. The oppression of the soapbox is a bit worrying in 2018. It's not even patriotism (in the measles of mankind sense), it's just supporting the country you live in in the football, like pretty much everyone does. Your attempt to make a virtue over not supporting them feels a little forced.

Enjoy the 3rd place game. it really isn't. anyone watching that could tell you (rather than flicking between screens alone, like you). an improving work in progress? sure. what you've done here is to leech onto an italian name, looked up what he is good at and rolled the dice. thing is, mandzukic could well score a headed goal, but stones and maguire are amongst the best defensive headers of a ball at this world cup so something like that shows no actual insight. also, "overachieving" and "overrated" are both also perfect tells into someone who reads opinions on message boards rather than watching games. basically, you are pathetic.

Walker's ropey centrally though eh, already made a few mistakes. Cahill against Giroud in the final makes sense to me...speaking as a general football fan of course Slippy, I don't hate the national team. It's not even the team itself but the way general football chat between people is cranked up to maximum annoyance levels with the majority who know nothing resorting to shit like 'all I know is it's coming home'. Fab, fab insight. The circus and the clowns are hard to overcome.

Fab, fab insight. The circus and the clowns are hard to overcome. I think Walker is in there for his pace alone. We're playing with a higher than normal defensive line with Stones & Maguire joining in the attacks. Walker's pace allows him to get back quickly and provide us some cover if the opposition are launching a counter-attack. He can also provide some cover at right-back when Trippier is pushing up. I've never actually been a fan of Walker's defensive qualities tbh but I think he's improving in that position with every game. Still, he's a weak link that defence for sure. Getting pretty nervous for tonight now. We can absolutely beat Croatia and I don't think there is much separating the 2 sides so it could go either way. I think it'll be settled in 90 minutes though if it does go to extra time I think Croatia might start struggling. If we sit back and don't try and go for the first goal, it could be risky. We tried this against Colombia and got stung in injury time.

Cahill against Giroud in the final makes sense to me...speaking as a general football fan of course walker is not there yet as a CB but has been growing into the role well. he's probably the best right back in the world, but trippier's delivery and steadiness works much better in this system, and walker has the pace to recycle the ball into midfield or attack very early, whilst also having great recovery pace. i like our 3 CBs quite a lot. Cahill is not young and on the front foot enough to be the first pick in this system. besides it would more likely be stones/maguire on giroud, surely. and both of them have had excellent tournaments.

Columbia Rocks Man is very excited, all he's done in the past 2 months is tweet about England. Slippy, I don't hate the national team. It's not even the team itself but the way general football chat between people is cranked up to maximum annoyance levels with the majority who know nothing resorting to shit like 'all I know is it's coming home'. Fab, fab insight. The circus and the clowns are hard to overcome. Let me get this right. You're upset at the fact this wonderful sporting event has brought the nation together, bringing a buzz in every home, office, workplace & school around the country. Yet people that have been swept up by this wonderful occasion should fuck off because they aren't interested when United have a wet Wednesday away in Burnley? You sound like a 16 year old who's upset that his favourite indie band has become successful all of a sudden. & Sully, I know nothing about modern football.. but it's most certainly, coming home.
