Working on a new record. I've been inspired by Pollard in a big way. Maybe not musically, but I want to make a record like Bee Thousand with lots of quick ideas that bleed into one another. Got 6 tracks done real quick, hoping to get maybe 20+ done.

I like it, good stuff. All done in one take too? Bravo - I always flap it once the red light comes on....either that or my kids start running riot!!! My anthology outtakes would have nspcc on my case! With this an some of your other stuff I've flicked through down the years you've done some good work

I really enjoyed doing this Daniel Johnston EP, have been listening to him constantly this past week & will probably do another one as his songs are really easy for useless people like myself.
I'm also getting close to having another collection of spoken word material ready. Hope to do a book full of that kinda thing one day but I've got a long way to go for that.
so between that and that aborted GBV EP I'll probably be spamming this place with a bunch of shit in the next few weeks.
Also I've been down the rabbit hole of looking at synths/sequencers on youtube & am tempted to actually spend some money so expect a ton of self indulgent noise coming too if ever I put my hand in my pocket.

Extremely short EP I recorded a couple of months ago. Was going for a GBV style, not musically, but how Pollard patches together bits & pieces. Was planning on doing a full record but got distracted & then didn't feel like returning to it. whole EP on the youtube link 1. Dirty Bugs 00:27 2. Harper Lee's Anniversary 00:56 3. Disco Conspiracy 00:33 4. Hey, Lab Rats! 01:11 5. Pathetically Disappointing 03:19 6. Diplomatic Wankers 00:58 yellowperilrecords.bandcamp.com/album/bee-ninehundredandninetynine

Come on guys, I spent at least 15 minutes stealing video's for that EP! It's like 8 minutes long.

I had heard it! But only a half-arsed listen while working tbh. I'm listening now again while “Here Come the Warm Dreads” by Lee “Scratch” Perry and Brian Eno sounds on another tab. Which is not ideal, but hey, the result is cool. I'll come back to it soon.

New record, "The Degradation Files". This is a drone/ambient/film soundtrack kinda thing. Came together quickly. Tucker, if you're having sleep problems stick this one on quietly as you drift off, though it'll probably give you nightmares. I think I might have a go at doing a score for a silent movie next, something from the 20s or 30s that is 20-40 minutes long. yellowperilrecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-degradation-files

Two different beasts, innit? Dr Honey & Mr Karl. I'll come back more to the GBV one, I feel like it's a great summary of all your styles and it's so short it can work anytime.
Nonetheless The Degradation Files is cool too, DDDDDDDDE. I definitely can see you scoring silent movies tbh, or even working on your own shorts maybe? These kind of ambient leanings beg for some nightmarish imaginery to go with!

Thanks for listening Barny. I just realised the youtube video I had turtleed for it had no music attached to it biggest Yellow Peril fuck-up since I put up an album with the same track on twice. Been inspired seeing Thurston Moore last night. I basically wanna do some kind of self indulgent thing with the sound of the Degradation Files mixed with the synth drone from The Swallowing record I did the other year, but want to collaborate with someone basically making lengthy mood pieces with electric guitar, the sort of thing that'll build real slowly, become melodic and then get chaotic, perhaps with some strange pedal effects/filters. Barny, Tucker, or anyone else fancy attempting something like that? If someone could provide lengthy guitar pieces & I'll layer the textures/droney stuff over the top/inbetween.

I'd be up for it only I don't have an electric guitar. If you'd be interested in me strumming some minor chords for an extended period of time, I could do something.
