Before the Elton thing struck me, I was about to say it was nice that he'd moved out of his plastic ono band/instant karma phase to the mind games era.

Yeah, mind games era was what I was thinking of. Thank god he skipped past Unfinished Music 1 & 2, though I guess some might say (hahaha!) that was the two BDI records.

I watched it last night. Pretty good documentary really. Would've liked to have seen more in the studio and of the recording process. I just find that shit fascinating. I liked the bits with him and his kids (cue sully calling me a paedo) it was heartwarming stuff. Also, I hope him and Debbie last. She's good for him and I think it came through that he loves the shit out of her. finally got round to watching it. the swearing was getting too much for me at one stage. seemed every other word was f*ing this or f*ing that. liked the scenes with peggy (u can't come & see me when i'm gone ). liam's acoustic playing was fairly solid tbh. can every fucker play an instrument except for me. i'll give it a 7.5 outta 10.

Once is one of my favourite post-Oasis songs tbh. Doesn't do anything new, but for some reason it really gets to me. Liam sounds properly invested in it and elevates it like he always used to.

It's the vocal melody for me. So infectious. And of course, he sounds very good. The harmonies in the chorus are also a thing of beauty.

Once is a pile of pish. If that’s a single, I don’t have much hope for the album.

Love Once and the piano version is stunning. Much prefer it to For What It's Worth as the big ballad single from the lp.

yeah exactly. i can't really pinpoint why, but something like FWIW sounded like a bit of a tired dirge, but this gives me feelz.

FWIW is worse than WOG, which is an absolute abomination.

After multiple listens, I'll give "once" a low 7 out of 10.
Good tune, I quite like the instrumental bit, reminds of bowies bewlay brothers.
