I'd like to take time to make my list and also see many people getting involved, maybe early next year so we have a bit of buzz with the 2019 lists and then this.

Less than 3 months man.
The last 3 of 120 months.
The last 2.5% of the decade.
The beginning of the end.
The Time Is Now.

Less than 3 months man. The last 3 of 120 months. The last 2.5% of the decade Exactly, which is why it should be done after the decade has finished and not before

eurgh, I can't stand consensus lists from websites/publications anymore. so fucking boring, same old pissweak attempt at provocation/woke-signalling bullshit. really doesn't feel like what music should be about, especially in 2019.
would much rather hear what everyone is saying here from december 15th onwards!!!

In all seriousness, I'm looking forward to doing my decade list, but there's just so much stuff being released recently (& stuff still to come) that I'm not even going to think about the decade until the beginning of next year. My end of year list is of the most importance.

I'm debating whether or not to complete mine in December of this year or January of next. I still have 10 or so albums coming out this year (RINGO!) that need to be placed on my 2019 list before I can determine a methodology for this. Shit's hard work, yo.
(spoiler alert)
1. Who built the moon? 2. Egypt station
1000000000000. Sonik kicks

How could anyone do a end of decade list when there’s bound to be another half a dozen Jesus abyss records before the years end.

I think we do the ‘Best of the decade’ lists in Janaury. Start the roaring 20s on the forum with a bang.
December should all be about the all-important top 2019 albums thread.

yeah i agree. having them lumped in with the end of year lists will make it seem like less of a big deal.
the forum always gets a bit of a lift around end of year list time so we may as well have that happen twice. january is always quiet in terms of new releases too so plenty of time to give stuff a spin before putting the list together.

I’m locked and loaded. Strongly suggest 31st October is the cut off.

There's some talk to be made about Pitchfork's top10 artists belonging all to major labels, specially considering their previous lists. Ah, Conde Nast.
While Ariel Pink had 4 records between 8.2 and 9 and well...
I mean, it seems the big corporations have finally found a way to enter the new landscape. They finally made all the top40 artists cool to the monocle league, win win.
