First thing I'm truly enjoying from 2021 is Jazmine Sullivan - Heaux Tales.

Really enjoying the new Shame album. First listen I wasn't sure but loving it now.
I'm also trying a bit more with Sleaford Mods this year. I tried them when they first came about, and while I liked some of the lyrics, overall they just weren't doing it for me. I didn't dislike them, just something never clicked. Yet they are loved by everyone on here and beyond so figured I should give them another go. I've started with their new one and will work back.

Really enjoying the Besnard Lakes new'un. Goat Girl sounded good when I first put it on, but need to listen properly as my attention wandered.
From last week, really liking Shame, but can't get on with Sleaford Mods anymore. I think i'd rather just listen to Jason rant in the pub than bother with a backing track.

The Madlib/Four Tet collaboration is brilliant as expected.
Goat Girl is really addictive and getting under my skin now after a few listens.
Strong start to the year.

Whats with that new Weezer album? All strings piano, etc, and no guitars. I always love those "classical" arrangements, and since I'm a fan of his voice and the tunes are as catchy as usual, I'm all for it so far.

Some of the lyrics are a bit iffy but the arrangement are absolutely fantastic throughout.

Black Country New Road is pretty stunning. 2021 is a cracker. You think? I was hoping for a bit more, albeit only after one listen (so i may well live to regret this post). I'm not sure there's anything on there that improves on Sunglasses and for me it feels like they can't decide on what to do or where to go. Too many ideas in too few tracks and a bit aimless. Undoubtedly good musicians and lots of talent but no direction and perhaps lack of someone to put their stamp on the whole project. I think i'd prefer 10 tracks with some focus than these 6 tracks.
