got a feeling next year is going to be brilliant. loads of good acts already announced albums or anticipated to be releasing something. also there will be loads of acts who have spent this year not able to tour and instead writing/recording.
decent stuff either announced or likely...
sleaford mods slowdive liam gallagher mogwai ryley walker black country new road squid dry cleaning black midi julien baker
decent crop of new bands about too as seen in the new british bands that are good thread. hopefully a few debut lps from them too.

I swear you have listed mogwai and claimed ‘next year is going to be brilliant’ in every one of these threads going back 10 years

The soapbox has certain annual traditions, like Eddie raising some random thread from 2011 from the dead, Mahoney making some horrific spelling error, Barny drawing out the best albums of the year thread far too long, and this is another.

Weller has a new one coming out next year, and from the 4-5 new songs he played at his livestream thing, it might be the best thing he's done in years. Here's hoping.
fakeedit: apparently two of the ones i thought were new are actually on 'on sunset'. Don't get old, kids.

Eh, i'd rather be overwhelmed by too much new stuff than listening to someone fart his way through rock'n roll star for the 8 billionth time. But this time on a boat!

SRK, as a gift to you and the forum, I am going to live stream my tv screen via my phone. Just add BIGDICK69ER on Vimeo ahead of December 5th. I'll play Liam's new song via Spotify after so you get your fix of new tunes as well.
Bret Hart is ashamed.

I’ve already got a copy of plastic ono band and familiar to millions on my phone, so I’ll just throw them on the next time I’m on a ferry.
Thanks, though! I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

Properly excited for 2021 albums.
Just seen Four Tet and Madlib have a collaboration album out in January which has the potential to be incredible.
The return of Arab Strap has me moist too.

I thought it was alreet, nothing too memorable for me at the time though. Listened to it again yesterday and it was slightly better than I remembered.

Great album tbh. I haven't really rated the first couple of singles off the new one though.

Yeah, wasn’t bothered with the debut that much either, but couple of the new singles have sounded pretty good, so looking forward to the album.
