Ok so I finally listened to that Katy Josh T Pearson women, and the albums really good! No idea if this is a new sound for her, I thought she was more a folk-bore, but this was a lovely upbeat pop record. Will catch her at the green mans.
BTW - The ALVVAYS bassist left and joined Kiwi Jr. (who I never really heard of before) Looks like Dan Beckoner from Wolf Parade/Handsome Furs/Operators/Divine Fits/Arcade Fire produced the album and it comes out on Friday via Subpop.
From the few songs I heard it reminds me of like Rooney or Phantom Planet
Singer looks quite ugly but I'll give the album a go when it's on spotify.

They sound alright, I'll give the album a whirl when it's out.
Yep I had a quick listen yesterday as I was away last week, think I like them more than the previous couple but less than the first single. Probably their worst record might, but still there are chances?
I've heard the new one a couple of times & I liked it enough to buy a ticket to see her. Both listens were when I was out and about so I've not had time to fully consume the lyrics yet.
not new, but light in the attic have put out a comp of Lee Hazlewood demos that's fucking brilliant. Lee stripped down to mostly just acoustic guitar & vocal. Annoyingly it's just a digital release, would have purchased this.

I can't believe you doubted me, you git.
The debut record is good too.

I've not bothered with The Sadies before, but their album from earlier in the summer is fantastic.
They're billed as alt-country but this record is most definitely 60s sounding garage/psych. It reminds me a little of the first Allah-Lahs record but with a bit more beef.
I just read that the front man, Dallas Good died suddenly earlier this year before it's released. So selfishly I'm never gonna catch them live. Bastards.
The record will be up there on December 15th though.
They're touring as a 3-piece with Travis doing the lead vocals on all songs. Having seen them at least a dozen times down the years, you guys missed out on one hell of a show. The interplay between Dallas and Travis on guitar/fiddle was what made them special. And yes, their new album is fantastic.
