Never really listened to Bonobo before but heard a track done with Jordan Rakei and have dug a bit deeper into recent single and EP releases and am digging what i'm hearing.
New Wovenhand album to be released early February. I have not been following them since 2008, but still an interesting band if you like dark, apocalyptic folk.

I'd be disappointed if it wasn't dark, apocalyptic folk with a name like Wovenhand.
Another song off the new Woven Hand record due in early February 2022, this is not as great as Duat Hawk but still good, vaguely punk-ish and reminds me of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club for some reason
But I just don't want to listen to anyone else telling it like it is. Real life is depressing enough at the moment and it's rammed down your throat every time you turn on the news or open any social media app.
I think new bands should be obliged to produce joyful escapism in 2022 and NOTHING ELSE. Fuck reality, even in it's most sarcastic form.
A few more things I've been listening to that have just come out:
Tania Tagaq - Tongues Now, what the fuck is this? This is Medulla's Bjork being exorcised to a Psychic TV soundtrack. Absolutely incredible post-industrial landscapes with unsettling split-personality vocals. Even at its most horrific, this record is made with such taste and sensibility that it gave me goosebumps. Best thing I've heard in a LONG WHILE. Get it!!
Faust - Daumenbruch You know Faust, they make a lot of noise and most of the times you (and they) don't have a clue what the fuck is going on. Not on this new record! This is more akin to a dark tribal jazz album, with pounding drums and, dare I say, even some moments of melody. It strikes a perfect balance between their extreme experimentation and their more ambient work.
in other news, tried giving a listen to the new Eels album and I COULD NOT SUFFER IT.

New album out on Friday
Is it any good? Around 04/05 I was OBSESSED with Ninja Tune and pretty much anything that label put out and Bonobo was probably the artist I liked the most. I've given bits and pieces of his stuff a listen over the years but nothing ever grabbed me like 'Dial M For Monkey' did.
