I've been trying to hold this in but I'm going to say it...
I'm really enjoying the new Miles Kane album.
Going to go and hide now.
He's such an insufferable prick, just like his mate Alex.
I loved The Rascals though, haven't listened to 'Rascalize' in a lifetime. Might give it a spin now actually.
The best thing Noel's done in the last decade was his slap down of Kane, who'd said he'd played guitar on one of Noel's early solo albums. Something to the effect of "Young Master Kane's "contribtions" didn't quite make the final cut." The derision was so thick, I was howling with laughter when I read that.
Robert Stillman - "What Does It Mean to Be American?" is my favourite thing I've heard so far this year. Jonny Greenwood recommended it on twitter & I had a listen and it landed for me immediately. He's an American that lives in Margate. I've gotten into Moondog recently & this I'd put in the same ballpark, It's Jazz but there's a lot of over influences running throughout it. Beautiful record, just had to order a copy.

Karl I listened to ‘Deep Time, USA’ on that album, in a word it’s unlistenable. I’m not going to slag it off, because I just don’t get it. To me that song sums up what I think jazz sounds like which is why I’ve never really gone near the genre.
What do you take away from a song like that? What is it about a “tune” like that, that makes you say, that’s part of a “beautiful record”?
TBH you did happen to pick probably the most experimental track on the entire record. It's going to sound alien to you if you've never took the time to discover jazz.
You really should dip your toes a little bit into the genre mate. There's so much variety that there's bound to be sub-genres that you'll actually find you'll enjoy & that'll lead you down other roads. It's like saying you don't like Rock music. That'd exclude you from psych, shoegaze, indie, punk and everything inbetween.
