I'll give it a go. He seems to be in a good creative space right now. There was a few crackers on the last Ride record, his first solo record was better than I expected & I've enjoyed his electronic Glok moniker.
Not expecting much & a double Andy Bell record is a little scary, but fair play. Nice to see he's got the creative itch again.
A 20 song behemoth, but it doesn't outstay it's welcome. Some new ground explored (inlcuding a couple of country tunes which should sound naff, but after a couple of listens are actually great), but still distinctively Big Thief.
I loved the last 3 albums, but this is another step up for. First album i've fallen in love with this year.
Big Thief and Beach House, which are 2 meh bands with a pretty narrow sound palette releasing double albums too sounds a bit like hell (heaven for big fans obvs). I'll give them a listen because they hit quite nice spots here and there but come ooooon
I'm really liking the Beach House album (thought that was it until recently when I found out part 4 was due this month). I guess if you're going to do an album that long then releasing it in 4 separate parts over a few months is one way to go about it.
I don't get Big Thief. I listened to the new record this morning, It's perfectly fine I guess? Though that is pretty much my reaction to any of their material I've heard.
I'd never heard a single song from Spoon until this morning. I decided to try their new record, I've no idea if this is a reflection of what they usually sound like, but needless to say it was one of the most offensively gutless pieces of shit I've heard in a very long time & I won't be ever hearing a note from them again.
I'm not sure I've ever heard Beach House, will give the new one a go as their headlining green man.
Hey Steve, you're the kind of guy that still enjoys fingering his bumhole to the pains of being pure at heart right?
If so, I think you might like Kids On A Crime Spree's album.

NOW WE ARE TALKING - fuzzy/pop on Slumberland Records.
I might have just came.
THIS IS SOUNDING GREAT.
It sounded reet up your street. Check out Artsick too. Album came out the same day on the label, think it features a member of Kids on a crime spree too.
