Managed to get a free ticket for the Sunday of Latitude. Hoping to see some of Sons of Kemet, Squid, Drahla, Julia Jacklin, Cat Power, Let's Eat Grandma and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever. Frank Skinner, Mark Kermode and Charlie Brooker are all there on the Sunday too so might manage to catch some decent arts stuff.

Someone on the latitude forum did the ambassador scheme where you get people to buy tickets through a specific link and if you flog enough you earn points to get free tickets etc. They had enough points left for a day ticket and kindly offered it to me. Said I'd get them some beers there.
Was torn on what day to go. Friday is probably the best day but I've got a ticket to see Johnny Marr in Norwich that night now. Saturday has two of my favourite acts in Twilight Sad and Nadine Shah but the rest of the day isn't great. Decided Sunday as there's tonnes of good smaller bands so hopefully will get a good run through the whole day. Also I've never seen the likes of Drahla, Squid, Sons of Kemet and Julia Jacklin before.

Tickets bought for Primavera next year.
Pavement innit. Plus, hoping that Purple Mountains play and Malkmus joins them to bang out some early Silver Jews numbers.

The Cure on Friday in Glasgow
Positive: It’s the first time they’ve played Jockland since 1993. I’ve never seen them, I enjoyed their Glasto set on the telly, so I’m up for it.
Negative: it’s a massive outdoor show and the forecast is for heavy rain 😂

Dunno. It’s crazy, when you consider Scotland and Glasgow in particular is always a date anytime a major touring artist visits the UK.
There are only two promoters in Scotland really capable of putting on massive shows, DFC being the main one, so I suspect there must have been a fall-out at some stage with someone in the Cure’s organisation. Never seen a satisfactory explanation.

I can absolutely hit the high notes on Smoke on the Water. I’ll tell Rod to start practicing that famous riff.

yeah They literally only ever book cover bands or open mic nights. I might turn up one night, do Rolling Thunder, drop the microphone and walk out. Went past there last night at 9 and there was about 5 people in there. There's literally tons of students living down that part now, I don't know why they don't put a few young bands in there, bound to bring a bunch of mates down.
