Been listening to his solo stuff a lot recently.
Let's face it, he became even more of a don when he finally got rid of that poncey guitarist, ryan jarman or whatever he's called.
'Pregnant for the Last Time' > 'The Queen is Dead'

He's got a ton of good solo songs, but the smiths are better overall.

the smiths were better. no doubt. much more consistent. since when did they make albums as poor as kill uncle or maladjusted.

Was pretty obvious Chrissie wasn't being serious you thick cunts, why not have a discussion about mozza rather than 'smiths are better' smiths>mozza lmao.
This section has totally had it for serious discussion on music, probably the fact we've discussed everything a 1000 times doesn't help but either way this board in terms of discussion of films and music has completely run it's course, all this place is good for is a few giggles & banter, I actually considered deleting my account but knew I'd only sign back up and look a cunt a week later.
I'm gonna find somewhere better that doesn't have Liverpool fans or cooking threads.

i wish. it's sad because it was so long ago. i'd like to see him in more recent times. i used to take tickets at an outdoor concert venue when i was 15-17. i'd get off work before the shows started usually and be able to walk down front and watch.

This section has totally had it for serious discussion on music, THIS. The worst of it is Karl, you just know half of these jokers have never even heard a Mozz solo song beyond 'First of the Gang..' or 'You Have Killed Me'. They sit behind their comfortable ''ooh I prefer the Smiths'' opinions instead of checking him oot properly, or heaven forbid, actually making a semi-interesting post on the forum. Mozz's solo work up to and including Vauxhall is absolutely first class. Sure there's some duds, but if The Smiths hadn't exisited I would still rave about him. His early 90s rockabilly backing band were fucking on it, Alan Whyte & Boz Boorer = geezers. This was at a time when J.Marr was working with Electronic and The The As Mozz might have sung to me, You're the One for Me, Fatty.

Look at Chrissie and Karl playing the big lads.
To be fair, you have a point but alas. I've still got a few records I've not heard (all the ones since You Are The Quarry infact). I love his solo stuff, yes there are patchy moments but no different from most other artists.
Viva Hate & Vauxhall and I are particularly wonderful. I tend to listen to Bona Drag and other compilations these days though.
Last of the International Playboys > Vicar In A Tutu (obviously)

Ive seen Morrissey about 6 times now. Always puts on a show and the crowds are all batshit mentalist for him, espc if its a show where theres a lot of Mexicans attending! Most unique crowd experience ever is at Moz shows. Almost every time. Such a wide variety of people.
I dont give a fuck about all this <> garbage. Both The Smiths and Moz solo are quality, theres a place for both at the table. I'd definitely say Moz has farrrrrr more misses solo, but the highlights are right up there with the best of The Smiths.

only ever seen him once at Alexandra Palace and it was great, I've had bad luck the other times I wanted to see him: Once I got a phone call from my dad saying that my grand uncle would die soon and I should come to the hospital immediately if I wanted to see him alive, was a hard decision but in the end I went to see my uncle rather morrissey the other time he came to berlin I managed to trick his stupid support band into thinking I was a proper journalist and wanted an interview with them so they'd get me on the guestlist, unfortunately then I forgot all about the gig, when I remembered, it was a day too late.

I've only seen him at ally pally as well, he's cancelled on me the other times & I got thrown out of V festival before he came on a few years back.
Start of Ally Pally show first 4/5 songs I remember thinking it was the greatest gig I'd ever seen, it went slowly downhill after that though was still a good gig.
