Both scored by Chris Martin *somethingaboutthecolouryellow*. I'm reckon they'll do well too, Lambert seems to be the real deal.

They were the best team at Priestfield last year - absolutely killed us for 90 mins yet we were still mugged for a 1-1 as they got a 97th (!!!) minute equaliser!
Everton will probably struggle there as well later in the week

bet? i meant i'd take the points ha, my misunderstanding, i thought there was a bit of pre-season optimism going on there, I offered that bet to bet welching prick a while ago but he didnt get back to me despite insisting the contrary. I'll take it david, Newcastle will finish within 20 points of Everton. Finish above Sunderland as well.

I can see Everton improving a good amount on last year if they can keep Arteta and Saha fit along with the rest of the squad so 20 points off you would see us about 13th, just like the mediocre days of Gullit, Dalglish, Souness and Roeder, lovely. saha wont stay fit because he's saha, and isnt *that* important thankfully since we get a lot of goals from midfield,

the rumour was that his kid was a bit deaf, though i'm not sure he'd hear any better in spain, there are stories about him going though and it may happen, sevilla is the lastest one, though the stated fee of €14m seems a little low really. we;d be fucked without him.

yeh i was thinking that myself, if he was off Moyes would seriously have to spend clever to replace him. Even though he spends a lot of time injured he's still your best player (sort of like us with Torres i suppose).

I'm sure i read somewhere that Arteta's never played more than 40 games in a season, in fact just looked on wiki and the most is 39 and in the last 3 years he's missed at least 10 league games. Maybe some of that is down to him being rested as he's the main player. Torres is still injured from the World cup so yet again he won't get a proper pre-season, it's the same every year. This year's the first time in a long time that Gerrard's had a proper break and that's only because England were shit.

he had some sort of operation on his stomach a couple of seasons ago and then that cruciate thing, but he's not a michael owen/saha/torres type that is just out then back then out, if he's still here its fine, once fellaini is back we should have an excellent midfield, the only concern is wether bily turns out to be able to play 90 mins week in week out. he's a skillful player but without stamina he may as well be carlton palmer. anichebe can do well out wide instead of him but he's always injured. torres wasnt helped last season by rafa playing him when not fit. a lot. but then you see spain did it too so the temptation must be massive, despite the fact that no player ever is any use if they arent fucking fit...
and dont worry brad, normal service will resume when the season starts, which is on thursday for them.
