Actually we were the first ever outright winners of the Intertoto cup in 2006. anyway to illustrate my point since you didnt bite.... pedantry failure, there was no actual trophy till the following year when hamburg got it. newcastle got a certificate for winning it. www.intertoto-cup.org/images/UICWinnerCeremony2007.JPGeverton fc beat cd everton tonight, 2-0.

We were presented with a plaque before the Alkmaar game, there was a trophy and it was awarded later. If you're really that bothered.

Nice to see Norn Iron's own Jonny Evans score one down there.
Anyway Linfield have been in devastating form the pre-seaon including two 8-0 wins, and a sterling 2-0 aggregate defeat to Rosenborg in the Champions League.
I predict us to have the Irish League wrapped up by Easter.
Roll on Saturday.

Is jkr (I think), the Deportivo fan still about? His boys just took one HELLUVA beating (on penalties) for this most magnificent and pointlessly huge trophy I'm back! That trophy has more history than some clubs. Very prestigious until money changed everything in the 90s. You should be proud!

seriously obsessed
you might be interested to know that we had around 4,000 more tonight than Everton did in their last home Europa League qualifier.

Tbh, Teresa Herrera trophy is a classic pre season competition really? it looks like a fucking dolls house It's Hercules' Tower, the most ancient Roman lighthouse in use and an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009. According to a myth that blends Celtic and Greco-Roman elements, the hero Hercules slew the giant tyrant Geryon after three days and three nights of continuous battle. Hercules then—in a Celtic gesture— buried the head of Geryon with his weapons and ordered that a city be built on the site. The lighthouse atop a skull and crossbones representing the buried head of Hercules’ slain enemy appears in the coat-of-arms of the city of Corunna. The trophy was not always like it is today: 1946 2nd trophy V edition XVII edition L edition

seriously obsessed you might be interested to know that we had around 4,000 more tonight than Everton did in their last home Europa League qualifier. so in other words you had more empty seats than we did. in fact there were more empty seats for your competitive fixture than there were for our friendly game? pretty shameful that. dont know why you'd be drawing people attention to it. was ryanair on strike or something?

you mean your friendly game where the tickets were given away free to people who bought 4 bottles of lager for £4 at Tesco?
Yeh that's a good comparison isn't it?
We had over 31,000 tonight, there were less than 20 away fans, would even go as far as to say there might have been less than 10, the tickets were £20.
Everton charged £15 last year for the qualifier (if i remember correctly) and you only got 27,000. The amount of empty seats is irrelevent.
When you consider that Everton have only been in European competition a few times in the past 10 years you really should get closer to a sell-out, at Liverpool we're used to playing in Europe every year, this year we're disappointed to only be in the Europa League, Everton fans would be delighted to be in the Europa league.

more fans stayed away last night. our last qualifier was better attended as a proportion of average attendance than your qualifier (which you brought up) as was our friendly last night. raw figures mean nothing without context, the number of stay away fans (empty seats) or the number of fans who usually go who attended (proportion of average).
